Lluis Rabaneda re-elected Vice President of Piragüismo International

Congress of the International Federation of Piragüism, which approved the re-election of Lluis Rabaneda as Vice-President of the ICF
The International Federation of Piragüism, has officially announced the renewal of Lluis Rabaneda as Vice-President of the organization for the next Olympic cycle, an appointment that underlines the continued commitment and leadership of the Catalan leader to the global development of piragüism.
After a remarkable record in the service of the ICF, Rabaneda will continue to play a key role in the strategic decision-making of the ICF and in the promotion of piragüism around the world. His renewed confidence reflects his dedication, his long-term vision for sport and his ability to strengthen the ties between national federations and the international community of Pyragüists.
Lluis Rabaneda, who has been Vice President of the ICF for the past three years, has worked for two decades at the ICF and has led important initiatives in key areas such as the development of training programmes for young people, the inclusion of new modalities and the promotion of sustainability within the Pyragüism. In addition, its involvement in the organization of world championships and its work in the integration of pyragüism in the Olympic Games has been essential to increase the visibility and impact of sport.
In his statements following the renewal, Rabaneda said: "These three years have been very important to me, especially because, due to the Covit- 19 pandemic, the 2020 Congress had to be delayed to 2021. This re-election cycle has been rather a natural continuation of our project, started in 2021. If we look back, we can see that the whole team, almost 100%, has been supported by most countries to continue working together. My tasks for the coming years are mainly focused on two areas: preparing as best as possible the next Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028, and working on the way to the Olympic Games in Brisbane. I will also focus on improving all aspects of the competitive nature of pyragüism, as it is the most important thing for the future of sport. This will be my main goal for the next four years."
