Button and Trittel round the year with the World Sailing of the Year
Diego Botín and Florian Trittel have been awarded as top winners at the World Sailing Awards ceremony, held at the historic Chijmes Hall in Singapore. The female version was for the Olympic gold medalist in Paris 2024 Marit Bouwmeester, the most successful regatist in this sport and that already accumulates two awards after her victory in 2017
The Mahon Maritime Club will host the 2026 Snipe World Cup
Menorca and the port of Mahon will be the epicenter of the World Snipe in 2026. The Snipe Class International Racing Association approved last weekend to grant the Mahon Maritime Club the organization of the World Championship from 19 to 26 September 2026. The meeting, which will bring together the best specialists of the planet in the class, has just put the point and final in Buenos Aires to its 2024 edition that has had the participation of three crews of the Mahono Maritime Club, and one crew, in a historic milestone for the national sailing.
The European of Nacra 17 begins in Palermo, with the Catalan duo Daniel and Nora García de la Casa
The Gulf of Sferracavallo, in the Italian city of Palermo, will be hosting from tomorrow the punctuable tests for the title of European champion of Nacra 17, with a Spanish crew among the registered, the Catalans Daniel and Nora García of the House in the Sub19 category, who last May were proclaimed European champions of Nacra 15 also in Italian waters and were champions of the youth world in 2023.
There will be a total of 18 teams, 36 elite regatists from 13 countries, who will face in a qualifying series until the fourth day of competition, before accessing the final Series, which will include fleet races and arbitrary match races, before meeting the absolute and juvenile winners on the 10th.
