Les Déferlantes: The first female ocean sailing school to make history

This innovative project is led by Aina Bauza (29 years, Spanish) and Sasha Laniece (31 years, French), who decided to join forces after competing for several years in the ocean class Mini 6.50. Both share the same concern about the lack of women in this male-dominated sport and have seen the need to create opportunities for women to participate in the sailing.

Performance Team (Class 40): Aina and Sasha will compete in the races of the Class 40 circuit, highlighting the participation in the historic Transat Jacques Vabre 2025 that each year brings together the best ocean sailors in the world. Class 40 is a 12-meter sailboat, which becomes the right category after the Mini 6.5 and before the 60.

Mini Performance Program (Mini 6.50): The team will select and prepare young regatists to compete in the Mini Transat 2027, the goal is to provide them with the opportunity to move towards the professional ocean sailing, with the goal that they can aspire to compete in the world's most important races in the future. The Mini 6.50 is the initial category of the ocean candle, where the great regatists are formed and the previous step of the following categories.

The international competition began on Tuesday, October 22 with three tests. On Wednesday, however, the participating regatists remained unsailed for lack of wind. On Thursday the competition was resumed, holding three more tests and ending with the qualifiers. On Friday, already in a gold group, and performing three more tests, Joan Domingo proclaimed the winner of the Opti Cup Cap d'Agde.

A milestone that it achieved after its good results in Argentina and which has been its last race before the World Cup of Optimist, which is held from 5 to 15 December also in Argentina.

The BISC hosts the Nacra 15 World Cup with the presence of the world's best young sailors

From October 30 to November 3, the Barcelona International Sailing Center (BISC) will be the stage of the Nacra 15 World Championship, which will bring together the 80 best youth teams in the world. With participants from countries such as Australia, France, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Great Britain, Hungary, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Switzerland and the United States, this world is one of the most important events in the youth sailing calendar.

The competition will have the participation of the three teams that occupied the full podium of the Youth Sailing World Championship in Italy. The world champions, the Italians Lorenzo Sirena and Alice Dessy, will face the subchampions, the French Cóme Vic Molinero and Fatima Tia, as well as the classified third parties, the Belgians Hannelien Borghijs and Sander Borghijs. It also highlights the presence of American Cody Roe and KJ Hill, world champions of Nacra 15 in 2023.

The lasers of the Nautic Cambrils dominate the Cornudella Trophy in El Balís

The Nautic Cambrils team achieved four podiums in the waters of El Balís. Joan Fargas was in Ilca 6. Miguel García did so in Ilca 4, also signing four first... the Tarraconians achieved a triplet in this class, with Álvar Vila second and Felix Ramos third.

The team of Ilca 4 was completed by Andrea Dessard, Gisel Fontana, Cristina Guillén, Alejandro Martí, Javier Megía, Joan Mestre, Sergi Muñoz, Daniel Pérez and Maria Vilanova. The one in Ilca 6 was also made up of Joan Gil, Ricardo de March and Pepe Peñaranda.

Failing Base Cadiz with specialists from Argentina, Canada, Switzerland, France and Spain

Five female and four male athletes have enjoyed, from last Friday 25, until Sunday 27, a new clínic in Failing Base Cadiz, located in the municipal facilities of the Elcano Nautical Center.

Again, the initiative promoted by the collaboration between Foying Base Cadiz and the Municipal Institute of Sports is a new activity that is in addition to the course of actions developed in the last two years to bring the sailing in its mode to the profiles of all levels of sports, promoting that Cadiz is reaffirmed in its position as the capital of this discipline.
