The centenary Real Club Náutico de La Coruña organized this weekend within the Abanca Week, and from the hand of the Concello de A Coruña to meet a debt with the most laudable Olympic sport of our country: the Piragüism... and can be satisfied, because it has done so in an impeccable way, with a frankly good organization, even though the meteum did not accompany much on this sabatina day in the beautiful Galician city.

At the edge of 8: 30 in the morning, the area of La Solana was a kettle of palists, of club technicians and managers, and of the public. In those moments with the first lights of the day, a few drops fell, making the situation hopeful, that a great show would be lived... in the confidence of a morning at least unrainy. But nothing further, because when it was 11: 00 in the morning and the Solana was hosting hundreds of spectators on their walk, the rain was intense and the show was missing.

Despite this, the Organization of the hand of the Nautico and the Galician Federation of Piragüismo managed to meet the schedule, and the tandas were performed as a Swiss watch, between the very Castle of San Antón and the mouth of the marina del Nautico, the Royal Navy. Finally, but already past one in the afternoon the sun appeared and was able to complete the program with great expectation, and the well-deserved victory of the Dragon Boat Asturias of Santa Cruz de Mieres came with all due merit.

After more than 40 palists (boys and girls) in the Principality, they were located at the School of Piragüismo City of Pontevedra, completing the podium the Ferrolterra team, the KDM Cababas Club. To highlight the victory in the BSC category that closed the tracks of this first edition, the Club de Piragüismo Cidade de Lugo. At the end of the event and before the award, at the foot of the quay, the components of the Bolboretas de La Coruña Montse Vázquez and Soledad Tahoux read a manifesto for breast cancer research, which was followed by hundreds of spectators.

Now the Abanca Week is left in the Herculine capital, where in November there will be two new events also held by the Concello da Coruña: the Isabel Zendal of female crews and the Aurelio Fernández Lage of base sailing. The A Coruña Nautical Festival of the Abanca Week has started with a good foot, thanks to the work of the Royal Herculine Nautical Club, and the support of the Concello da Coruña.
