Spain will defend its title as SailGP champion to the largest F50 fleet in history

Spain will defend its title as SailGP champion from the next 23 and 24 November, at the Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix, presented by P & O Marinas.

SailGP confirms the presence of a strong fleet of 12 equipment for Auckland. The number 12 is currently in full development between New Zealand and the SailGP Technologies facilities in Southampton, United Kingdom, the 12th F50 catamaran of the competition will be used by France. Les Bleus will not compete in Dubai, as the team and its possible new owner have decided to wait for the new league F50.

SailGP has also confirmed Italy's arrival at the competition. The official team announcement - including the complete alignment of athletes - will be released soon. The team will be led by Jimmy Spihill, who already announced last campaign his intention to form an Italian team after his departure from the United States SailGP Team.

Italy will therefore be the second national team to join SailGP in the 2025 season. He will join the Mubadala Brazil SailGP Team, which will also compete for the first time in Dubai, led by the double Olympic gold medalist Martine Grael, the first woman to pilot a SailGP team. The team CEO, Alan Adler, has indicated that the team will be composed of a mix of new and experienced athletes, including some outstanding records before the Dubai event.
