Scallywag 100 the fastest of the 45 Rolex Middle Sea Race in central Mediterranean waters

The ship armed by Huang-Seng Lee, patronized by David Witt and with the navigation of the Barcelona Juan Vila, was the first to complete the 45 Rolex Middle Sea Race after a tiring duel with Black Jack 100 that lasted along the 606 nautical miles of tour around Sicily. The Hongkonese colossus crossed the finish line in La Valeta after two days, 21 hours, 33 minutes and 29 seconds.

At the front of the load, the fastest were barely able to demonstrate their potential, slowed by a wind that was elusive and uncollaborative. The two largest ships in the fleet, the 100 feet Black Jack 100 and Scallywag 100, starred in a pulse along the 606 nautical miles around Sicily. After alternating with his rival for much of the tour, Scallywag 100 first arrived in Malta to get the longed for real-time winner's title after stopping in two days, 21 hours, 33 minutes and 29 seconds. Black Jack 100 arrived 19 minutes later. The Rolex Middle Sea Race is organized by the Royal Malta Yacht Club and has been sponsored by Rolex since 2002 as part of a Swiss watchmaker's commitment to the sailing world that goes back almost seven decades.
