The Kayak Vigo Club was proclaimed on Sunday afternoon in the waters of Sanxenxo the absolute winner of the first edition of the Vila Trophy of Portonovo of Kayak de Mar, immersed in the Abanca Week, which with international rank in the 2024 Calendar of the European Federation, was held in the waters of the Pontevedra era. The podium was completed by the Club de Piragüismo Cambados and the Coruñés de Cabanas.
There was a lot of fear in the pyragüism environments that the competition could not be held, in fact the 6-meter Europeo that was finished from the hand of the Nautico de Sanxenxo saw how his final test could not be held, as could another one before. But the meteor has these things, and after a more than dubious dawn in Portonovo, with the first lights it was observed that it could even be an exceptional day to begin the story of the Vila de Portonovo with good foot.
Despite all the fact that there was a considerable more background on the beach of Major, Alberto Rodríguez, president of the Club de Piragüismo de Portonovo, proposed to his colleagues in the Organizing Committee, case of the president of the Olívico de Vigo José Besada... as well as the head of the judges sent by the Galician Federation Sanexnxo Pachu Sánchez Moures, to use the cadets that were 5,000 meters long, but to double it by making a cipher and reaching 10,000 prescriptions.
The idea was seen with good eyes, and the success was unquestionable, as at the edge of the eleven and a half (the departure was an hour earlier) the master, senior and young male and female participants had been fully successful, with these results, at the level of those who achieved gold: Senior Female Ind.: Marta Mourelos (Breogan O Grove) Senior Female Double: Avril Freire and Antania Freire (O Muiño Robadeo) Double Female Master: Monica Fileiras and María José Emquera (San Aberino).
In cadet that competed in 5 km the best in categoria were the duo Clara Carrera and Gael Dorgambide del Kayak Vigo, in male individual Daniel Freijo also Vigués, in double José Luis Iglesias and Pedro Cabaleiro de Portonovo... In double girls the couple Julia González and Lucía Fernández achieved gold for Kayak Vigo, while in individual girls the best was Lucía Otero of the Club Cofradia de Pescadores de Portonovo.

This first run was completed by the traditional kayak, the veterans... all managed to cover the 10 kilometers. After them at 12: 00 in the morning the cadets competed with the same sign: an excellent day of piragüism. At one o'clock in the afternoon, the award was given, chaired by the provincial deputy and council of Sports of Sanxenxo: Marcos Guisasola, to whom the presidents of four immersed clubs: Alberto González del Piragüismo Portonovo, Javier Ruiz de Cortazar del Náutico Portonovo, José Besada del Olívico and Zulema Prado del Marítimo de Vigo, as well as Raul Albores por Abanca, shared.
Now the Abanca Week is heading for the province of Ourense, where the next event will be held, dedicated to the base candle... the International of Optimist de Castrelo de Miño, which will have as an exceptional companion to the Clinic of Optimist Oils April that will have as director to the Team Leader the Team of Spain of the specialty reference of the base candle at the world level: Kiko Como.
