Class 6 Metros already has new European champions. The Xacobeo Trophy, which has put into play the continental title in the waters of Sanxenxo since last Monday, September 30, has ended this Saturday with the Bribon of King Juan Carlos awarding his fourth consecutive European title in the division of Classics and the Finnish Oiva of Henrik Andersin crowning at the top of the Open group.

As the parties announced, the arrival of a new blur to the Galician coast has caused Sanxenxo to dawn with rain and strong wind rashes that reached over 30 knots in the morning. With a forecast of extreme conditions throughout the day, the race committee decided to suspend the last test to be held at 10: 45.

In total, seven sleeves were completed out of the eight scheduled. An organizational success after a week of competition in which the wind didn't make things easy.

The Aida de Francisco Botas, which has Javier de la Gandara a la rea, was certainly the great protagonist of the day. The Coruñés team had no rival and was awarded two brilliant first posts that allowed it to enter the top five of the general, placing fourth to three points of the third.

At the top of the table, the Bribon of King John Charles resists with the first provisional position after adding on Friday an eighth - partial that becomes his discard - and a fourth. The fight to sentence his fourth consecutive continental title remains very tight, and is that the Finnish Astree III of Ossi Paija managed to cut points and remains only one of Don Juan Carlos's crew after signing two seconds. The Titia of Mauricio Sanchez-Bella continues in third position at ten points from the Astree III and eleven points from the Bribon.

The one who took the best income of the day was, however, the Finnish Oiva of Henrik Andersin. With a second and a third note - and thanks to dismissing a seventh place from the previous day - the Andersin crew managed to raid the general's lead with a five-point advantage over Jeremy Thorp's British Battlecry, which rose from the fifth to the second position after sealing two fifths. The former leader, the Swiss Junior of Muller Rainer, now takes up the third drawer of the provisional podium to a point on Thorp's team.

The blur that has hit the Rías Baixas during the last days has given way to a day marked by the absence of wind in the river of Pontevedra, which has prevented the fleet from being thrown into the water today to continue to advance the competition program.

With a total of five completed tests, the teams begin to make numbers for the discard, which will come into play with the sixth manga dispute and could cause a turn in the final line of the battle for the continental title.

2024-10-02: European 6MR Xacobeo Trophy: Bribon widens its advantage in Sanxenxo

The meeting organized by the Royal Nautical Club of Sanxenxo crosses the equator with the third day dispute in which the wind and rain were again protagonists

The battle for the continental title of 6 Meters in the Xacobeo Trophy continues. The test organized by the Royal Nautical Club of Sanxenxo today has crossed the equator with the third of the six days that will last the competition, and has done so with the Bribon expanding its advantage in Classics and with a double tie between Junior and Stella at the top of the Open General.

The classification of the Open division could not be tighter. The only test played on this third day of the Xacobeo Trophy has caused a new turn in the general and a double tie in the head. The Stella de Violeta Alvarez, who on Monday started the championship in the seventh position and was fifth yesterday, was today in the water ready to continue with its particular rebound.
