The great Pyragüism competitions to Portonovo are coming back from the hand of the Abanca Week, where next Sunday the first edition of the Kayak de Mar Portonovo Trophy will be held with the Grand Prix of Pontevedra in play, and with the support of the Concello de Sanxenxo, as well as the Xunta de Galicia.

They did not miss the appointment in the Nautico, the clubs that organizers of this appointment that is intended to be to start the path of the return of the old villa pontevedresa to the great events of piragüismo: the Club of Piragüismo de Portonovo that presides Alberto Rodríguez, the Nautico de Portonovo with Javier Ruiz de Cortázar to the front, the Olívico de Vigo that presides José Besada and the Marítimo de Vigo with Zulema Prado as president. A committee chaired by Marcos Guisasola, Sanxenxo's sports councillor and provincial deputy in the Pontevedra's Office, and which on this occasion had the strong support and presence of Alfredo Bea, President of the Galician Federation.

At the time of writing this chronicle there is already confirmation in the FEGAPI that 124 ships are registered, in which they will compete about 160 palists... with two different tracks: the cadets that will start their competition at the edge of 12: 00 in the morning about 5000 meters, and the youth, seniors and master's that will do it just in double in 10 kilometers.

The planned tours that have been designed by Alberto Rodríguez and José Besada are really beautiful, and there is a lot of interest in the palists to return to these tracks: the elders will leave at 10: 30 in the morning of the beach of Major, to pass through the lighthouse of Picamillo and enter the beautiful beach of Baltar in the center of the total of Portonovo.

For their part the cadets will leave the beach of Baltar, to make 2500 at the tip of Falixa a cidefa and return to Portonovo. At one and a half in the afternoon it is planned in the beach area, where is located the headquarters of the Club Piragüismo de Portonovo, which is held the delivery of medals and therefore the closure of the competition.

From the north-west there are a total of 24 clubs registered: by the province of Zamora the Sangregorio Piragua City of Zamora. For the northern area Cabanas, Miño, Noia, Cambre, Narón and Rianxo... for the province of Ourense, the Valdeorras River, and for the southern Breogán del Grove, Olívico de Vigo, Pescadores de Portonovo, Piragüismo Cambados, Poio Conservas Pescamar, Kayak Vigo, which with 27 boats is the one that has the largest fleet among the participating clubs, Tudense, Cobres, Ribadumia, Illa de Arousa, Río Verdutico, and Ráuería Real Club.
