It will be the fifth course with Wakeboard and Wakesurf competitions of the Abanca Week (Photo Gonzalo Pamies)

The Spanish Championships of Wakeboard and Wakesurf begin this Saturday, with the great Prizes of Ourense and Oils Abril, at the Pista de Barra de Miño in the municipality of Orensano de Coles, with a number of participation that marks a new record in both disciplines: more than 60 Riders.

The Abanca Week is already in the interior province of Galicia with riders of the federations of Madrid, Catalonia, Valencia, Baleares, Andalusia, Extremadura, Castilla y León, Castilla La Mancha and Galicia that will present ten athletes in competition; the largest expedition after those of the capital of Spain and the Catalan.

Satisfaction in the president of the Galician Federation of Nautical Skiing, Jacobo Pereira, who is also the president of the Dumies of Ourense that will present the best Riders in the northwest, along with the Nautic San Telmo de Tui.

Both entities bring together athletes from the provinces of Pontevedra and La Coruña, the case of the Herculino Alfonso Rey, who is the great favorite in the master categories... or of the old Bugarín brothers who hold the favoritism among the younger.

In Wakeboard, in the Open category that is the strongest will compete for the Spanish championship a dozen riders of which 4 are Madrid, 3 Catalan, 2 mallorquins and a Galician. In Waquesurf in the Sub18 lot the favorites are Martín Nieto de la Madricala and the Vigués Francisco Bugarín, while in the Open Tanguy Uzel of Andalusia, the Catalan Jimenez Peña and the Russian Vladislav Gorbunstov, along with the Galician Castelo Lourido are the strongest a priori.

In the female categories, there is the Yara de Jesús galician with many possibilities in Open, as well as the Catalan Cristina Riu Palau, and the Madrilel Natalia Benito. While in Skim they leave as favorites Nina Ryshenkova and Viktoria Verbytska.
