2024-09-27: Valencia 52 Super Series Royal Cup: the winner in the last test

The fourth day of competition of the Valencia 52 Super Series Royal Cup presented complicated but sufficient conditions to celebrate three tests that increased the emotion in the battles for the last event of the year and for the absolute crown of 2024... four points separate both the first three classified from the 52 Super Series 2024 and the Royal Cup, which guarantees an exciting Grand Finale for both titles... the Brazilian Crioula, which joined the fleet last August, was the best ship of the day and occupies podium in Valencia (Photo Nico Martínez)

On the first exit, Provizza soon laid the bow to lead the load and no longer look back. At the stern of the Turkish ship a battle was fought for the second position that caused an authentic melé in the next step by buoy. The second consecutive victory of Protenzza was uncontested, with Crioula in second position and Paprec third.

In the second, the instability of the breeze turned the positions. After a good departure from Platoon Aviation, the end of the first section again presented a ration of roles that complicated the passage by buoy. At the front on this occasion, the Takashi Okura Sled was the best one to take advantage of the complicated stage to get his first partial victory of the week, followed by Crioula and Teasing Machine.

The third test was dramatic. Crioula led the first stretch and was able to defend his position in front of Quantum Racing powered by American Magic in a wind that died gradually and that was handing out tickets in what seemed like a real lottery. In a third step by buoy to the slow, the Regata Committee decided to shorten the course and give good results after three sections. The victory confirmed the ship of the Brazilian brothers Eduardo and Renato Plass as the best of the day after scoring a 2 + 2 + 1 partial that consolidated it on the provisional podium of the Royal Cup and the second position allowed Quantum Racing powered by American Magic to place itself as a new leader of the circuit.

2024-09-26: Valencia 52 Super Series Royal Cup: the temporary causes a blank day

Too much wind in Valencia to fight the third day of the Royal Cup

The overwind prevented the 52 Super Series fleet from competing in the Valencia race field on the third day of the Royal Cup. After going out into the water in the first hour of the morning with a forecast of three tests, the 13 ships of nine nationalities returned to their base in the Valencia Navy without having been able to give any exit and postponing the action to Friday. The mayor of Valencia, María José Catalá, visited the event to take an interest in the Royal Cup and its participants.

2024-09-25: Valencia 52 Super Series Royal Cup: Providenza continues to command

The second day of competition of the Valencia 52 Super Series Royal Cup was filled with a single test that allowed the Provizza of Ergin Imre to consolidate its position at the head of the great end of the season... the Turkish ship now leads by three points to Platoon Aviation, which in two days has managed to present its candidacy for the last title of the year and to scratch 11 points to Gladiator in the battle for the absolute title

The 13 teams from nine countries competing for the Valencia 52 Super Series Royal came out in the water with a menu of two tests and returned to their boxes in the Valencia Navy with a single partial in their locker. The wind only agreed to collaborate at the beginning of the day, and kept a fleet and organization in vile for several hours with constant changes in intensity and direction that prevented the establishment of a fair journey. At the edge of 17: 20, the plywood Maria Torrijo sent everyone back to the ground.

The output of the only test of the day, was given with 12 knots... the summary in a pulse between Provizza and Platoon Aviation in which the German team failed to match the performance of its rival. The victory allowed Provizza to consolidate its position at the head of the Royal Cup's provisional and to Platoon Aviation to place second, three points.

2024-09-24: Valencia 52 Super Series Royal Cup: Provides first leader

The Royal Cup premiered with two rounds in unstable wind conditions and partial victories for the South African Phoenix and the German Platoon Aviation. The great end of the 2024 season of the 52 Super Series was premiered with an unstable wind day that rewarded the ability of the crews (and their good fortune) more than the performance of their mounts. The 13 ships from nine countries held two tests to inaugurate the Royal Cup lockers to be held in Valencia waters until next Saturday.

In the battle for the first partial victory of the week, the victory corresponded to the Phoenix, timed in Valencia by its shipowner Tina Plattner, followed by the Alegre of British Andy Soriano and the Teasing Machine of French Eric De Turckheim.

Alegre was the first to complete the initial section of the second act, followed by Paprec and Platoon Aviation. The ship of Harm Müller-Spreer advanced a position in the next stretch and became leader in the penultimate, seeing how a good rebound of Protenzza placed the Turkish ship right at its stern in the last step by buoy. The German team was able to defend its partial leadership in front of Protenzza and Paprec.
