The Unicredit Youth America's Cup is launched and held until next day 26 in Barcelona

The UnCredit Youth America's Cup has been launched today with 12 teams, the six American Cup teams and the six guests, including the SailTeam BCN, will compete from tomorrow until September 26, the day of the big final.

The races will be held with the AC40 ships with which the preliminary races of Vilanova i la Geltru and Jeddah, made up of four crew members, were held. In the case of the SailTeam BCN the rods will be Martin Wizner and Conrad Konitzer and the trimmers Jaime Framis and Antonio Torrado. As alternates will be Albert Torres, Neus Ballester, Marcos Fernández and Nico Martín.

Group A is made up of the American Cup teams: Emirates Team New Zealand (New Zealand), Athenea Patway (Great Britain), NYYC American Magic (United States), Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli (Italy), Alinghi Red Bull Racing (Switzerland) and Orient Express Racing Team (France).

Group B consists of the guest teams: SailTeam BCN (Spain), Jajo Team DuchtSail (Netherlands), Concord Pacific Racing (Canada), Youth AC Team Germany (Germany) and Andoo Team Australia (Australia).

The competition system

The first classification rounds will include a total of eight fleet tests for both groups. The three best teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals, where four additional tests will be carried out to determine the two best ships that will compete in the final. On September 26, the two finalists will face an exciting match-race for the title and prestigious trophy of the UnCredit Youth America's Cup. This event not only promises to be a platform for emerging talent in the candle, but also offers a unique opportunity for young regatists to measure themselves on an international stage.

Among the Andalusian people, the best result was made by Francisco Javier Acosta of the CN Torre del Mar, twenty-eighth between a fleet of 88 classics and fifth Spanish. In the same fleet Raúl Franco del CN Puerto Sherry was ranked in the 61 and Juan Alfonso Muro of the CNM Benalmádena in 74. Adolfo Martínez of the CN Puerto Sherry signed position 69 in the Open classification.
