The award of the Port Portals 52 Super Series Sailing Week was attended by Queen Suthida of Thailand. After competing on board the Vayu of the Whitcraft family throughout the week, the monarch was in charge of delivering the champion trophy to the crew of the Gladiator

A dramatic final assault solved the fourth event of the 52 Super Series season. The Gladiator of the British Tony Langley, who came out in the water in the second provisional position three points from the leader Platoon Aviation, played his cards with master in a last game in which he managed to neutralize the advantage of his rival and take the victory to the unbound.

The meeting of Puerto Portals was resolved in the last of the nine sleeves held during five days of competition in the bay of Palma. In the battle for the title, Platoon Aviation, Gladiator and Quantum Racing were going out in the water on the last day concentrated on only three points, and the podium posts would be distributed based on what happened in the last match of the championship.

2024-08-31: 52 Super Series Portels: emotion to the final battle for the title

The fourth day of competition in Puerto Portals consisted of a complete menu of three tests that reduced the differences on top of the provisional and raised the tension in the battle for the fourth title of the season

The Port Portals 52 Super Series Sailing Week will be resolved tomorrow in an exciting two-round final that the three maximum seekers of glory face concentrated on only three points.

The action began with 11-14 knots of wind and rose to about 20 as the initial test advanced. In the presalide choreography, Paprec achieved the position at the left end of the line, which in the end would be demonstrated as the right option. Jean-Luc Pethuguenin's team, typed by Cedric Chateau and with the tactic of the ocean legend Loïck Peyron, led the entire tour until he scored his first partial victory of the season. A penalty in the first step by buoy relegated the leader Platoon Aviation to the line of the platoon, although the ship of Harm Müller-Spreer would be able to recover until signing a ninth. Its archrivals Gladiator (second) and Quantum Racing powered by American Magic (third) scratched a few important points.

In the following, Takashi Okura's Sled scored his third partial victory of the season. The world champion in 2021 hit the left side of the field, finding a clean lane to escape to the front of the fleet and no longer look back. A similar bet from Providzza resulted in a good second for the ship of Ergin Imre in this first event with its new Providzza XI. Third finished Quantum Racing powered by American Magic. A new penalty of Platoon Aviation cost the German ship another nine points of ballast, which combined with the sixth signed by Gladiator, allowed Tony Langley's to place himself provisionally at the front of the table.

On the third exit, Alpha Plus also hit the left, where he found a free way forward without interference. In the middle of the fleet, Platoon Aviation and Gladiator were playing the provisional leadership of Puerto Portals. The German team mounted the first step for the fifth buoy and the ninth British. While the positions at the front of the test would no longer vary, the emotion focused on the duel between the two leaders of the event. At the end of an end of an end-of-the-day tense, three ships were in extreme by the bow of Gladiator, which added a frustrating tenth to the relief of Platoon Aviation (sixth). The German ship was taking the lead.

2024-08-30: 52 Super Series Portels: Gladiator approaches Platoon Aviation

The third day of competition of the Port Portals 52 Super Series Sailing Week was filled with a single test that allowed the Gladiator of the British shipowner Tony Langley and the Argentine timonel Guillermo Parada to scratch two points to the still leader, the Platoon Aviation of the German shipowner and timonel Harm Müller-Spreer... Vayu, with the Queen Suthida of Thailand on board, was fifth

The fourth event of the 52 Super Series 2024 crossed the equator of its competition program with a day of capricious wind in the bay of Palma that delayed the first departure of the day and made it impossible to complete the second. The fleet of 13 ships from nine countries returned to Puerto Portals with five partial after three days of competition and a provisional headed by Platoon Aviation.

The only disputed test began with an hour of delay, but the wait was worth it and the fleet could jump into the field with a good breeze of 15 knots. Once again, Gladiator sought the fastest way through the left end of the line, and the ship of the shipowner Tony Langley soon stood in front of the cargo. In the crucial first step by buoy, the TP52 world champion snuck into the bow of the duel between Platoon and Quantum Racing powered by American Magic. Guillermo Parada (Gladiator's timonel) and Harm Müller-Spreer (Platoon Aviation's shipowner and timonel) set in an exciting pulse in the first set, but at the end of the stretch the ship
American typed by Harry Melges was outnumbered German to stand second. The positions would no longer change until the goal, where Gladiator achieved his second partial victory of the week, ahead of Quantum Racing powered by American Magic and Platoon Aviation.

2024-08-29: 52 Super Series Portels: Platoon Aviation escapes the platoon

The team of the German shipowner and puppet Harm Müller-Spreer, which features on board the Spanish Jordi Calafat, Victor Mariño and Javier de la Plaza, took advantage of the second day of competition to consolidate its leadership in the Port Portals 52 Super Series Sailing Week and escape 11 points from its immediate persecutor... Queen Suthida of Thailand enjoyed the competition on board Thai Vayu

In the first test of the day, Sled, Provides and Alpha Plus crossed the line before time, having to repeat the exit. The current TP52 world champion, the British Gladiator, again got the left end of the line on which he found the path of victory in the previous day, but in this case the glory was to be for South African Phoenix. The team of Hasso Plattner, winner of the 2023 edition of Puerto Portals, led the first step by buoy and was able to defend his position until his second partial victory of the season.

In the second of the day, Gladiator committed a painful off-line that made him have to repeat the exit as most of his rivals clawed out from the opposite end of the line. It provided the bow to the front of the load, and at the first arrival to buoy it produced the curious image of Provizza XI and Provizza X (now Crioula) in the head of a fleet that formed an authentic melé.

In addition to the first four partial of Puerto Portals, Platoon Aviation maintains the most regular performance between the fleet and takes off to the front of the classification, which leads with 11 points of advantage over Tony Langley's Gladiator (10 + 5 today). It occupies the third provisional position the Paprec of Jean-Luc Pethuguenin, which signed the second best card of the day (2 + 4) and is located just one point from the circuit leader... tomorrow.

2024-08-28: 52 Super Series Portels: Platoon Aviation, first leader

The inaugural day of the Puerto Portals 52 Super Series Sailing Week was filled with two good tests in the Bay of Palma... The bay of Palma again met its flat rate of wind, as defined by the Majorcan bow of the Turkish team Providenza, Joan Fullana. At the start of the Port Portals 52 Super Series Sailing Week, he presented a thermal in the 10 knots setting that allowed to complete the two scheduled tests and leave the first images in competition of the historic fleet of 13 ships from nine countries that compete for this fourth event of the 2024 season.

Quantum Racing powered by American Magic was the first to jump to the pitch performing the best exit in the inaugural test, while a painful off-line relegated the Alegre to the platoon's tail. The American ship lost its options by hastening the right end of the field and left the door open to a group led by Platoon Aviation, which mounted the crucial first step by buoy, followed by a Crioula that surprised everyone with a magnificent performance in its debut. The rest of the test was led by the world and circuit champions in 2023, who took a strong victory ahead of the Brazilians and the Circuit leader and current world champion, Tony Langley's Gladiator.
