The Louis Vuitton 37 America's Cup is only a month away from walking, in Barcelona's waters
With the beginning of the third and last preliminary race, which will begin on Thursday, August 22, 2024 and will continue until Sunday, August 25. These dates will mark the time when words will end, at least for a few days, and the AC75 will face for the first time.
What we know for sure is that all the teams will be operating at their highest level at the moment of their campaign, all eager to start hair and to perform slow speed tests. There is little time to make spectacular improvements, but enough to work to the slightest detail. The format will be match-race one by one, with routes defined with limits and doors to surround, on which you can choose the side of the route. The conditions may influence the general classification, as many of the ships have an optimal point defined by the design equipment, while others are AC75 for all types of weather conditions, which can be configured at will. It is a fascinating enigma of design, and even the most experienced commentators of the America's Cup, those who have observed the ships and the training day after day for years, see it too hard to speak out.
Spanish Championship for Autonomy Equipment, from the Optimist Class in Barcelona
From 24 to 26 July, the waters of Barcelona will be the stage of the Spanish Championship for Autonomy of the Optimist class, bringing together the best young regatists in the country. The championship has started with a day of registration and measurements, followed by three days of intense races that will guarantee first-level show and competition. The regatists will have the opportunity to compete in the same race field where, this year, the Copa América de Vela will be held.
A total of 8 autonomy and the national team (who will not be eligible for the title) participate in the championship. The participating federations are Andalusia, Catalonia, Euskadi, Valencia, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Galicia and Cantabria. Each of them shall be represented by two teams, except Cantabria, which shall have only one team. In total, there will be 16 teams and 64 regatists, each consisting of 4 members, two boys and two girls, ensuring a balanced and diverse competition.
The format of the race will be Round Robin, where all teams will compete with each other in Match Race races. In the Match Race, two ships face directly in each race, highlighting for strategy and tactic in individual competition. The teams will be divided into two groups, A and B, which will be drawn to decide which equipment will be the number 1 or number 2 of each autonomy. Each group will perform two Round Robins. The first two teams of each group after the Round Robins will pass to the semi-finals, where an additional Round Robin will be held. The two best teams of the semifinals will go on to play the Grand Final, while the teams classified in third and fourth place will play the Petit Final. The Grand Final and the Petit Final will be the best of three races, with the first team to win two wins being the winner of each final.

It was presented in the Barteria del Crajo, in the millennial enclosure of Monte Real de Baiona, the Trophy Conde de Gondomar... one of the oldest races of Galicia cruises, which is the dean of those of height to the Finisterre Trophy, and of those of cruises the Regata de las Rías Baixas... the first of the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña, and the second of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo.
From next Thursday, July 25, some of the most prominent crews in northern Spain and Portugal will be thrown into the water for a four-day competition, until Sunday 28. In the absence of hours for the registration deadline to be closed, there are already more than half a hundred boats that have signed up to participate in one or more of the trophies that are put into play... which is the system used by Monte Real, to support a type of race that reminds the missing Admiral's Cup but with less distances... and which are sadly not fashionable. The one that was Regata Jesús Valverde... the rise to Finisterre is the maximum event, in which the best ships participate, with the most greedy patterns and crew, completing the script with a lot of different races that have the least difficulty, and which are those that hold most of the participants... and that are either held in the river of Vigo, or with traces between the archipelagos of the Cies and the Ons.
