Offringa and Mortefon win in Pozo Izquierdo and lead the Slalom X World Cup
Pozo Izquierdo reserved the last day of the World Windsurf Glory of Gran Canaria 2024 for the final slalom X eliminations, with winds that reached 30 knots, in both male and female category. This last race determined the first podiums of the new PWA discipline, especially the second and third place, since both the Sarah-Quita Offringa and the French Pierre Mortefon had already secured the first place in Slalom X thanks to its important advantage in points.
During this exciting final day in Pozo Izquierdo, the last phase-out of the male Slalom X category, composed of four sleeves, took place this morning. There was a little drama when the Polish competitor Maciek Rutkowski had a false exit in the last series, which made him lose his second place on the podium to Italian Matteo Iachino. But the action in Pozo Izquierdo did not end the excitement of the last race of Slalom X, as good conditions allowed the expected great final to unpack in the sub21 category between the grancanaria Alexia Kiefer and the tinerfeña María Morales.
