The Surne- Trophy Eskarra Regata, in its tenth edition, was for the Tchin Tchin by José Luis Ribed. The Vizcadno ship was imposed in the Cruise class I and in the absolute general, while the Yamamay Cantabre won in Regata, the Paquita IV in Cruise II and the Brut among the monotypes of the J80 class.

The Tchin Tchin was imposed in the final general before the Yamamay of Javier Gallo, the Alpega of Alfonso Churuca, the Txupinazo of Juan Valdivia and the Symphony of Javier Onaindia. In J80 he won the Brut de Juan Mocoroa, with the Surne in second position. The Cruise class I was for the absolute winner, the Tchin Tchin of José Luis Ribed, with the Thelonious of Jon Garai second and the Bacilon of José Miguel Franco third. In Cruise II, the triumph was taken by the Pasquita IV of José Luis Calle and the second was the Ramper.

The Tchin Tchin encloses its name in another line of the palmarés of a competition that arose in the 1960s of the last century by an idea that he was then president of the Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club, Don Ramón Zubiria. It was a tribute to José Luis Azqueta and his sailing boat Eskarra.

2024-06-19: The Surne Regatta returns to the Abra with its classic Cantabric label

Only one day after the summer began, it returns to the Vizcaina waters of the Abra one of the classic tests of the candle in the Cantabric: the XIX Surne-59 Trophy Eskarra.

Since this month of June, we have already held the highlights of the calendar of the Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club, as was the Bizkaia Championship... now, it is the turn of one of the most relevant dates for the ships of the cruise class and the monotypes of the J80 division. The Surne- Trophy Eskarra Regatta is disputed this Saturday with a 30-year-old online cruise.

In the last two years the Maitena of Mikel Emaldi has been imposed... in the rest of the classes, in 2023, the Bacilón of José Miguel Franco in Cruciero I, the Kohen of Juan Carlos Estefanía in Cruciero II and the Solintal of Ignacio Camino and Armando Gutiérrez in the J80 class were defeated.
