When the Vigo Nautical became a section of the Vigo Sporting

The Royal Nautical Club of Vigo has died... had 96 partners, each paid a monthly of 25 pesetas... in its coffers there were seven thousand hard (*)... and yet he has died... because his partners agreed to dissolve it. He was still barely born. It was a rare case that deserved from the press acre censas. To end this was certainly not worth raising so much money. This is what the great Afonso Castelao said.

(*) 7,000 hard were 35,000 pesetas of those real for their value... at present change about 1.5 million euros.

The drafters of the Viguese press, when they learned that the Club was dying, ran with their machines to surprise the last alms of their soul. The last servers, other than the fatal news, made their preparations for the next station. Some of them painted the Miquiquis de Curbera car boat; others launched the number one boat, a beautiful maritime work that came out of the precious hands of a riverside carpenter named Canoa (he had his workshop on Chao Street, where today he found the delegation of the Pontevedra Diputación in Vigo... great patriarch of the Canoa Family of great importance in the Vigo del Siglo XX) and he enjoyed great popularity in all the Rias Bajas; one painted the Argos, the best canoe of Galicia, property of Manolo Bárcina, that was being collected in the dark chamber, and there was a collection of the sea-house.

I was saying the janitor then... this will soon be over... there's a lot of money together. There will be a palace... while the journalists were betting: nothing will be done... there is no worse thing to pretend. On the other hand, the collector told us how the months call 96 powerful viguese doors and presents them with a receipt of 25 pesetas... and makes it effective... a total of 1,400 pesetas, against a cost less than 400. And yet the Club has been dissolved. And the river of Vigo, so wide, so quiet, so beautiful and so weighted, ran out of a sports agency that would honor its great and its charms.

So far the story full of sadness of Castelao... would spend four years in the Christmas of 1913 for the Vigo society that managed its most important team of football-ball.., the Vigo Sporting (which would join in 1923 to the Fortuna of Bouzas to form the current Royal Celta Club), to host the regatists of what was the first Real Club Nautico as a sports section more... it would have to wait to 1926 for the unforgettable Estanislao Durrefundara el Nautico, and to start a new stage with the same one in the summer of the Palma, which is celebrated in the same year in the Plaza de Mallorca. A spectacular competition that filled the viguese ría with candles... and in which was imposed the Cisco of the dean of the Galician nautical clubs: of the Real Club de Regatas Galicia de Vilagarcía de Arousa.
