The second title of the 2024 season, first in the historic American headquarters, will be resolved on Sunday in an exciting final with up to three tests, if the wind allows. The local Quantum Racing team leads the provisional with only three points of advantage over the Thai Vayu in which it competes the tactic Mallorcan Manu Weiller.

The Thai Vayu, in which he competes the tactic Mallorcan Manu Weiller, won the first test of the day and was placed only four points from the lead. Gladiator was imposed on the second and Platoon Aviation had to withdraw after breaking his helm

Platoon Aviation was the best on the way out and starred in the first quarter of the tour, but while betting to hasten the right end of the field at the end of the first stretch, he was collided on the arrival to buoy the Thai Vayu and the American Interlodge. The rest of the test kept order in the head group, and Vayu achieved his second partial victory in Newport, followed by Interlodge and Platoon Aviation. On this occasion, Quantum Racing failed to repeat its excellent performance in the start of the XS 52 Super Series Newport RI Trophy, signing a painful eighth that faded its advantage in the provisional, which now led by a single point over Vayu.
The wind recovered the two digits in the second test, which was disputed in 12-14 knots of intensity. After a new good departure from Platoon Aviation, the best on this stretch was to be Gladiator, followed by Quantum Racing in the first step by buoy. In the built-in, Platoon Aviation broke his rudder after hitting an object and had to give up the test, heading back to the New York Yacht Club. The victory was the Gladiator of the shipowner Tony Langley and the puppet Guillermo Parada, followed by a Quantum Racing that recovered part of the ground lost in the previous test. They would follow Alegre and Vayu.
