The AC75 of the Orient Express Racing Team makes its first flight in Catalan waters, in which we already live the Americas Cup
The Orient Express Racing Team continues to celebrate milestones, and none as memorable and significant as the inaugural sailing flight of its brand-new AC75. In a week full of first, and after a series of static and tow tests on Tuesday, yesterday Thursday, June 6, the French race team first tested the flight on board its monocasco with 23-meter-length AC75 foils with which it will participate as a challenge at 37 America's Cup.
The pilots Quentin Delapierre and Kevin Peponnet, the trimmers Matthieu Vandame and Jason Saunders, and the 'power sailors' in charge of supplying energy on board - Olivier Herlédant, François Pervis, Rémi Verhoeven and Germain Chardin- were delighted with the experience and, taking advantage of the valuable experience gained in the team simulator, the race crew was able to perform a 4.5-hour navigation session.
