The countdown to Paris 2024 begins... tomorrow will be fifty days until the opening of the Olympic Games... in this final sprint, the Spanish sailing selection is already at full performance in Marseille, city that will host this sport

Jordi Xammar and Nora Brugman in 470, Diego Botín and Florian Trittel in 49er, Támara Echegoyen and Paula Barceló in 49er FX, Tara Pacheco and Andrés Barrio in Nacra 17, Ana Moncada in ILCA 6, Joaquín Blanco in ILCA 7, Pilar Lamadrid in iQFOiL female, Nacho Baltasar in iQFOiL male and Gisela Polido in Formula Kite female are the team that, on June 26, will be ratified by the Olympic Committee for 2024.

Since the last international championships of each class of this cycle were held, they all follow a comprehensive training program based in Marseille, carrying out the latest material tests and strengthening aspects of competition that allow them to reach the Games in the best conditions.

The action will begin in Marseilles on July 28 and all continents will be represented, with 330 athletes from 66 nations. They will compete in ten classes, of which four are double: a male, the 49er, a female, the 49er FX, and two mixed, the Nacra 17 and the 470 that premiere as a mixed class. Among the six individual classes, ILCA 6 and 7 are unchanged, while iQFOiL, male and female, is the new mode of windsurfing, and the Formula Kite will compete for the first time as an Olympic class, also in male and female versions.

Germany and Britain are the only countries that have classified the 10 classes admitted, to which France is joined as host country. Spain, Italy, China and the United States each have nine classified classes, forming the cast of great sailing powers for these Olympic Games. The competition will take place in four race fields (Orniche, Frioul, Marseille and Calanques, located in the Gulf of Marseille, and will start on the 28th with the IQ Foil male and female classes, 49er and 49er FX. The male and female Formula Kite Medal Series will lower the curtain of the candle at the Games on August 8. The Olympic Games also present another particularity in the number of participants: Nacra 17 and 470 are the least numerous with 19 boats each, follow with 20 the 49er, 49er FX and the male and female Kite Formula, 24 tables will be in the male and female iQFOiL exits and the ILCA 6 and 7 are the most numerous classes with 43 ships in each.
