The World Championship of Formula Kite closes the calendar of international races of this Olympic cycle in the waters of Hyères, where the Spanish Gisela Pulido begins in the seventh place of the provisional classification.
The girls, with 46 registered in two groups, were the first to complete the scheduled tests. The Spanish Gisela Pulido took off with force seizing a 6-2-3-4, although a right of way protest was worth a disqualified in her best sleeve, the second, finally occupying the seventh place in the first provisional table. The French woman Lauriane Nolot, a defender of the title, gave few options to her opponents and was imposed in all the races, followed very closely by her compatriot Jessie Kampman who only failed in one with a second.
In the male category there are 79 Riders from 32 countries who play the world title, and he is also the defender of the title, the Singaporean Maximilian Maeder, the first to take command of the classification, although tied to points with the Brazilian Bruno Lobo and also the French Axel Mazella.
Alejandro Climent heads the Spanish male team at 27, followed by Jacobo Espi, 39, Carlos Espi, 54, and Leonard Collado, 60. The Classifying Series will extend until Thursday 16, passing the fleets, already divided into Gold and Silver groups, and Bronze for the boys, to play the Final Series. Sunday is reserved for the Medal Series, with Semifinal and Final.
