The Sailway Series, which has organized the J70 Vigo Association with the support of the Royal Olive Nautical Club... in which 16 monotypes have participated in the representation of Spanish, Portuguese and Swedish clubs, being the great dominator of the J70 Laguardia & Moreira that has had three different patterns in the four events that have been held in the months of February to May: the Lucense Gonzalo Araújo, the Olympic Canary Jorge Martínez Doreste and the great Coruñese pattern Malalo Bermudez de Castro.
They completed the podium the J70 of Marina Coruña, the Valmy-FVO that three large ones on board: the ocean navigator number one of our country: Chuny Bermudez de Castro, the Olympic medal Nico Rodríguez and the world champion of TP52 Victor Mariño... and the Marnatura, one of the best units of the reference monotype at the planetary level and that is at the world top of the Corinthian (amateur crews).
If on Saturday day the meteor made the delights of the athletes and the fans, with winds of 8 to 12 knots with a truly summer stage... Sunday was the other side of the coin: first bruma, then sun... but with the absence of the wind; so there was no discussion... the chief judge José Ignacio Prego, had no choice but to expand, on the boat of the Committee of Regatas, the consabida flags of the letters N on A of the International Code of Signs... be "na" of wind and for home.

2024-05-11: Laguardia & Moreira, continues to distance and leaves the Sailway seen for judgment

For the Sunday closing day in Vigo, as well as in Barcelona... the series before the European Championship, held in Cala Galera in Italy and the Spanish Cup in Galician waters in mid-June, are completed in both sites: Vigo for the Atlantic and Barcelona for the Mediterranean (Photo Pedro Seoane)
Laguardia & Moreira patroniado on this occasion by the great patron Gonzalo Araújo of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo, is shown as the absolute winner of the Sailway Series in the absence of the closing day, which is held this Sunday from 10: 30 in the morning in the Viguese era.
The Galician cane, which has shared the position of patron with the Coruñés Malalo Bermudez de Castro and the Olympic Canary Jorge Martínez Doreeste, started on this last first-class appointment, and after Saturday's day has increased it.
The wind did not fail in Vigo, because the wind was of north component first, to end in the south-west at the end... it started in the 12 knots and went down to 8... but in any case between the roles and the relaxation of the fleet that knows that Gonzalo has all the ballots to make a new victory, for his rich palm trees... it is not normal for Laguardia & Moreira of three sleeves that were held not win any of them.
The partial victories were for Pazo de Cea, who continues to sail very well on this occasion with Ramón Ojea to the controls, competing for the Maritime of Canido... Red April of the good Orensian cove Jorge Pérez Canal that must not forget that in its first stage as regatist had managed to be Spanish champion of the Olympic Class Laser... closing the partial victories Guillermo Alonso, a high quality cane and veteran with its Seneca W. To highlight that the Lisboeta ship Sail Cascais was at an excellent level with the Olympic Lusian medal Hugo Rocha (bronze he had achieved in the complicated class 470), which was hung among the first.
With these results the general of this act for the top ten, is as follows: 1st Laguardia & Moreira of Gonzalo Araujo, 10 points (3rd -5th -2nd); 2nd Pazo of Cea with Ramón Ojea to the 11 (1st -2nd -8th); 3rd Seneca W of Guillermo Alonso 12 (7th -4th -1st); 4th Sail Cascais with the Olympic medalist Hugo Rocha (5th -3rd -4th) and 5th Red (6th -1st of the City of Jorge with the 6th).

The Barcelona Spring Series and the Sailway Series will be completed before it starts in Italian waters, in Cala Galera, the European... in which it will be in the Team of Spain, the J70 Marnatura of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo with a crew composed of Luis Bugallo, Enrique Freire Faria, Iago Osuna and Pablo García; a continental championship that will take place between 18 and 25 of this month; while the Spanish Cup will be held in the 20 and more of Spain, there will be held in the 20 of June.
It should be noted that the whole of the Galician and Lusitan fleets (with bases in La Coruña, Vigo and Lisbon) is turning to take place in Vigo the World Championship of J70 Corinthian, which would mean a new record of participation for a competition of high international sailing flights past in the Atlantic area... as the 150 ships would be reached. The efforts of J70 Vigo to this end, it seems that they are on the right track, and more and more international support is being received.
The Sailway Series reach the fourth and last act, by the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo, made up of two days: the first on Saturday from 1.30 p.m. and the second on Sunday with the beginning of the 10.30. The great favorite is no doubt the Laguardia & Moreira, which accumulates 34 points after having carried the controls three patterns of true luxury: the look established in Vigo Gonzalo Araújo, the Coruñés Malalo Bermudez de Castro and the Olympic Canary Jorge Martínez Doreeste.
The second square for the moment is for the Valmy FVO based in Marina Coruña, the third being the J70 of Luis Bugallo, the fourth the Noticia of Barcelona and the fifth the Pazo de Cea del Marítimo de Canido. The excellent Arousan judge, José Ignacio Prego, will serve as the chief officer, being José Durán the referee and Kevin Figueiras the beacon.
