Brilliant victory of the Spanish team of SailGP, which was imposed on New Zealand and Australia at the end of the Grand Prix to close a perfect weekend... the Spain SailGP Team consolidates with this triumph its third place in the general ranking, leading its immediate pursuer in nine points

The Spanish team of SailGP conquered the island of Bermuda and raised the one that is their second wheel of the season, following the one achieved in Los Angeles at the beginning of the course. After being classified in extremis by the end of the weekend, the F50 Victoria led by Diego Botin imposed on it the almighty New Zealand and Australia, demonstrating that this team can win this year SailGP.

In the first of the two races of the day, the Spain SailGP Team achieved a third position that brought the Spaniards closer to the first three posts of the weekend, although it took a good result in the last race to achieve the feat. It makes it not even in the last breath of the fifth and last race. Spain, which came second to the last turn, saw France sneak into the interior, in a maneuver that also ended with a penalty for the Spanish team. Australia then took advantage of the situation to advance both countries and to move the finish line second. The advance caused Spain and Canada to tie to points in the third place of the Grand Prix. However, as the Spanish team had crossed the goal ahead of Phil Robertson's in the last sleeve, the classification for the final could be achieved.

In the final, a brilliant Spanish F50 maneuver allowed for a perfect exit and to be placed in the head of the sleeve. From there, Spain maintained a vibrant duel with New Zealand, which until almost the last buoy threatened the second win of the Los Gallos season.

With this first position in the Apex Group Bermuda Sail Grand Prix, the Spain SailGP Team consolidates its third place in the general ranking of SailGP, leading in nine points to Rockwool Denmark, fourth classified. San Francisco's dream is closer.

The Spain SailGP Team began with a seventh and sixth place in the first two sleeves, to finish first in the last after an excellent exit. at the end of the day, Spain is fifth with 19 points, three less than the third classified, Rockwool Denmar

Spain SailGP Team closed the first day of the Apex Group Bermuda Sail Grand Prix in the best possible way: with a victory that allows the Spaniards to dream of the end of tomorrow. To do this, the Spanish team will have to do better than Canada, Rockwool Denmark and New Zealand, which were somewhat more consistent than Spain throughout the day. Australia, for its part, completed Race Day 1 with two first posts and a third, practically ensuring its presence at the end of the weekend.

The negative note of the day was put by the United States team, which a few hours before the start of the races announced that their weekend of competition in Bermuda had ended. The F50 of the United States SailGP Team overturned during yesterday's practice race, and the damage to the wing could not be repaired in time.

The team piloted by Diego Botin was from less to more, starting a seventh place in the first of the three races. In the second manga, Spain was well positioned, but a couple of penalties (for invading the limit of the race field and not giving New Zealand manoeuvre space on arrival at one of the doors) ended up relegating the team to the sixth position. In the last race, however, they did not fail... the Spain SailGP Team led the test from start to finish after an excellent departure, adding ten very valuable points.

The incidents in which Australia and Denmark were involved during the past ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix - which meant the deduction of points for both equipments - have caused the table to be adjusted for the remaining competition

SailGP arrives on the iconic island of Bermuda with all to decide... in the absence of four events by the end of season 4, the fight for the first three posts of the general of SailGP is tighter than ever, with up to eight teams with the chance to opt for the Grand Final of San Francisco.

Now, Peter Burling's New Zealand is leading the championship with 68 points, nine more than aussies, capitalized by Tom Slingsby. Wahroonga's comes to this Grand Prix with a desire to reclaim what happened in Christchurch, when the Australian F50 collided with one of the goal buoys by trying to avoid a clash with Canada. In third position are Los Gallos, with 55 points, pursued by France (54 points), Rockwool Denmark (50), the United States (48), Canada (46) and Emirates GBR (45).
