The protagonists
470 Joint - Jordi Xammar and Nora Brugman
The oldest class of those participating in the Olympic Games is renewed for this edition as it becomes a mixed class. In its previous categories, male and female, it is the discipline that most medals bring to the candle medallion, with four oars, two cans and one bronze.
After his passage through Rio 2016, where he formed crew with Joan Herp, and Tokyo 2020, where the bronze medal was hung together with Nico Rodríguez, these will be the third Olympic Games for Jordi Xammar.
In the face of the change from class to mixed category, Xammar joined forces with Nora Brugman, for whom these will be their first Olympic Games after developing their first Olympic campaign with views of Tokyo with the American team.
The race towards Paris of this crew has been impeccable. Current world champions, they were subchampions in 2022 in The Hague, where they got the country square. They are the first in the International Sailing Federation's world rankings, World Sailing.

49er - Diego Botín and Florian Trittel
In the penultimate generation of classes included in the Olympic Games (2000), the so-called male skiff has given Spain two mellades, one of gold and one of silver.
The crew of the national team is not foreign to the Games. Diego Botín's first participation was in Rio 2016 with Iago Ópez-Marra, with whom he would repeat in Tokyo 2020 to obtain an Olympic diploma of sour taste when he finished rooms tied to points with the bronze medal.
Florian Trittel prepares its second Olympic Games after forming crew with Tara Pacheco in Nacra 17 in Tokyo 2020.
Third world ranking, the combination of both athletes is being very productive. They premiered as European champions and world subchampions in 2022, to which they added a bronze in the 2023 world with which they obtained the country classification. This 2024 began for them with bronze medal in the World Championship in Lanzarote, followed by a first place in the Princess Sofia Trophy and the recent gold in French Olympic Week.

After the entry of the 49er in the Olympic Games as a mixed category and being exclusively male in London 2012, it was in Rio 2016 that the female version of the class was added under the name of 49er FX.
Támara Echegoyen was an arrow point in the development of the class in Spain and, following his gold medal in London 2012 in the Elliott 6M class along with Sofia Toro and Angela Pumariega, he went to the Rio Cona Berta Betanzos Games to become worthy of an Olympic Diploma with the fourth place in 49er FX. For Tokyo 2020, Támara formed a crew with Paula Barceló, added a second Olympic Diploma, also with a fourth position.
The tandem repeats for Paris 2024 and endorse its position as favorites with two bronzes in the world of 2022 and the European of 2023.
ILCA 6 / ILCA 7- Ana Moncada / Joaquín Blanco
Included as an open class in Atlanta 1996 under the name of Laser, it became a male and female category in Pekin 2008 as Laser Standard and Laser Radial, being called ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 in Tokyo 2020, acronym of International Laser Class Association.
Spain has been represented in this category since its inception, and on this occasion it will be Ana Moncada and Joaquín Blanco who represent us. For Ana Moncada they will be their first Olympic Games, while Joaquín Blanco already participated in the 2016 Rio Games.
Nacra 17 - Tara Pacheco and Andrés Barrio
After the cessation of the Tornado as an Olympic sailing discipline, the Nacra 17 took over in Rio 2016 and became a flying category in Tokyo 2020 by incorporating foils. On both occasions he had Spanish crew at the Olympic Games and on each of them was present Tara Pacheco, in Rio as a crew of Fernando Echévarri, and in Tokyo as a timonel next to Florian Trittel. After the Top10 in Rio, in Tokyo he obtained Olympic Diploma with a sixth place.
Andrés Barrio, for his part, began this campaign by forming a crew with Antonio Torrado in 49er, to begin with Tara the sprint towards Paris 2024 in 2023. With a tenth place, they got the country square for the class on the first chance, the World Olympic Classes Championship of The Hague 2023.
IQFOiL M and F - Nacho Baltasar and Pilar Lamadrid
Windsurfing became part of the Olympic family in Los Angeles 1984, varying its name over the years from the Windglider to the iQFOiL through the Lechner, Mistral or RS: X depending on the table model. In RS.X Women, Marina Paliau won the gold medal in London 2012.
With the current iQFOiL Olympic windsurfing becomes flying and becomes a practically new class because of its navigation and the qualities of its athletes.
For both Nacho Baltasar and Pilar Lamadrid, our male and female representatives respectively, these will be their first Games.
For Pilar Lamadrid, the experience of having acted as Blanca Manchó's sparring in the Tokyo campaign and his passion for windsurfing made him start the Paris campaign by highlighting internationally. Top5's positions are the tonic of his palmaris with a fifth place in the last world class and the same position in the international ranking.
Nacho Baltasar, the youngest in the Spanish team, will play his first Olympic Games at 19 years. Its escalation at the different levels of the category has been haunting and, after obtaining a fifth place in the Marseille Test Event last year, it achieved the country's ranking with the tenth first place in the World Cup of The Hague, is subworld champion Sub23, and bronze medal in the recent French Olympic Week, the last international race of the class before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The seventh place obtained in the Princess Sofia Trophy raised him to the seventh place in the world rankings, as he will improve after the bronze obtained in the French Olympic Week.

Kite F - Gisela Polido
Flying and with a comet, this transgressor is the new Formula Kite class in which speeds are reached that roar the 40 knots.
From the hand of Gisela Pulido, ten times the world champion in freestyle, Spain achieved its ranking as a country in the first qualifying test, the World Cup of The Hague 2023, being the first Olympic experience for the Raider.
Pulido takes you from you with the international flower and cream, taking the third position in the world's ranking. In his palmarés, a sixth in the European 2023 and a fifth in Test Event in Marseilles stand out, and the world title still remains to be disputed before the Paris Olympic Games.
