For AlexiaBarrier, a former solo ocean regatist of the Vendée Globe, who became a team leader, founder of the project and captain of ocean races, was also another big step in his personal transition from solo regats to capitalizing a strong team of women in a high-speed multicasco for the first time.

The exclusively female crew of the Mod70 Limosa of The Famous Project arrived this morning at the Portuguese port of Portimao, in the Algarve, to successfully complete its main objectives: to return the ship to Europe from Antigua in the first transoceanic step in a Mod70 made exclusively by women and to significantly increase its learning and cohesion together as a team about 18 months before they plan to sail with the Maxi trimaran Idec Sport on the record tour of the Julio Verne Trophy and to establish a female reference point.

The transatlantic tour was covered by the project's founder... French Alexia Barrier and British Dee Caffari... the crew formed: Marie Riou (FRA), Joan Mulloy (IRL), Deborah Blair (GBR), Annie Lush (GBR), Rebecca Gmuer (NZL) and media reporter Georgia Schofield (NZL). In part, the journey helped in the formation and future selection of the 10-member team that will sail on the giant Ultim Idec Sport without scales around the world during the winter of 2025.
