Spain, Valencia and the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia reach the end of the cities that choose to host the most important sailing event, as are the World Sailing Olympic class world by 2026.

The format by which the Spanish candidacy continues to bet and offer to the international federative entity is the possibility for the RCN of Valencia to host the event as unique or in the two planned, both for double and individual classes. A competition that would be framed between July and October, both in 2025 with the 'tests events' and in the final competition of 2026; dates proposed by Valencia.

The sports project for Spain began its journey more than a year ago, with the union of forces between the RCNV and the Federation of Vela de la Comunitat Valenciana, the support of the Royal Spanish Federation of Vela and the Spanish Association of Nautical Clubs. From that moment on, the search for public and private institutional support is being extended, necessary to be able to present a solid and unflawed candidacy for the global challenge they faced.

It was this same week, when the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia presented the second and final offer of candidacy to city and club, to host this great event, and to remain a finalist on the list of those selected. With more knowledge and redefining the global project to the needs, under the official recommendations of the World Sailing, a more adjusted and sustainable budget has been presented for any of the options proposed by the Club, which provides for an economic impact ranging from 17 to 22.5 million euros. Since, according to the reports of the World Sailing, it will be between 800 and 1,400 regatists representing more than 70 countries that could finally fight the races in the capital of the Turia.

The next step, the most important of the whole line, will be on 2 May 2024 before the court and technical committee of the World Sailing in which the final project of Valencia's candidacy will be presented and defended against the rest of the cities.
