The duo Pol Mateu-Quim Serra of Pedro del Nàutic El Balís proclaims Spanish champion of 420 in Gaditan waters
The Gaditana Bay today presented its best face to fire the participants in the 420 Spanish Championship, resolved in four days and eight tests, the last two contested this Sunday under winds of between 10 and 13 knots of intensity, with deep sea and a very marked current in the race area. From the Gaditan regatta come seven Spanish championships that are distributed five crews as two of them achieve the double, and the autonomous federation champion of Spain, title that falls to the territorial balar that is the one that has the greatest success.
The crew of the Náutic El Balís formed by Pol Mateu and Quim Serra de Pedro seals the absolute and senior title, with a final scare that does not reach greater thanks to the discarding. Mateu, the champion of the world and now of Spain along with Serra de Pedro, took a third in the penultimate test, adding a thirteenth that by dismissing allows him two points of rent with the crew formed by the Brazilian Mohammad Royo and the Gaditan Pablo López, seconds, as they take away the leading champions of Spain senior and Sub 19, the baleares Marisa Vicens and Marina Borras, which are absolute subchampions of Spain in front of the Brazilian / Spanish tandem.
Vicens and Borras have fought the youth title until the last race of the championship, to which they were tied with their territorial companions, Nicola Jane Sadler and Sofia Cavaco, but a pinch of these in the final test and a third of their rivals decided both positions. They are also subchampions of Spain Sub 19 the Andalusian Josete Ruiz and Vicente Hernández, belonging to the CN port Sherry, who say goodbye with their best day and reach the podium in their category and the top9 of the general.
In the category Sub 17, the Spanish champions are also baleares, Neus Fernández and Martina Gomila, seven absolute, and among the boys, their territorial companions Hugo Rodríguez and Nicolás Montoya are made with the titles Sub 17 and Sub 19 since the top8 of the general. The mixed Spanish championship is confirmed in the hands of the crew formed by the Gallegos Alba Díaz and Pablo Barreiro.
