The nautical market has recorded 1,007 registration of recreational craft in the first quarter of 2024, are 308 fewer records than those made in the same period last year. This fall affects both the nautical market of individuals (vessels for private use) that concentrates 655 registrations (65%) and the water charter (rental) sector that in this first quarter records 352 registrations (35% of the market).

These are the data collected in the"Recreation boat market report. Enero- March 2024", edited by ANEN on the basis of the data provided by the General Directorate of the Merchant Navy.

NATIONAL NATIC MARKET DATA

By length
The segment of vessels over 16 meters in length is the only one that produces positive data in the energy period - March 2024 and exceeds the enrolments made in the same quarter last year.

By type of vessel
All markets suffer from a fall in enrolment, with the greatest impact on water motorcycles (-27.8%) and folding pneumatic vessels (-55.3%), which are in line with the smaller boats.

Enrolment by province

The fall in enrolment affects the practice of all the autonomous communities with the greatest impact on the nautical market, with the exception of certain territories in northern Spain, such as A Coruña which is growing by + 22.86% compared to the first quarter last year, Asturias (+ 30%) and Cantabria (+ 33.3%).

Also in Catalonia, Girona notes a growth of + 7.55% of enrolments. And in the Valencia Community, Valencia increases its enrolment by + 13.33%.

In the charter marketthe same pattern as in the global market, with increases in the registration of charter boats in Girona, Asturias, Cantabria and Valencia.
