800 crews and more than a thousand regatists from 71 countries will compete in Palma Bay

The 53 Trophy Princess Sofia Mallorca by Iberostar to be held in the waters of the Bay of Palma from March 29 to April 6 in the Bay of Palma, already guaranteed the spectacular number of 800 crews and more than a thousand regatists from 71 countries

One more edition, the Princess Sofia Mallorca Trophy by Iberostar will be the first race of the season in which the ten disciplines of the current Olympic cycle are quoted, this year with the added interest of the proximity of Paris 2024. It'll be the biggest, too.

Among the teams that have already confirmed their presence in the 53rd edition of the Sofia are not missing several champions from the last edition: the Japanese Keiju Okada / Miho Yoshioka (winners 2022 of 470 Junta), the Brazilian Martine Grael / Kahena Kunze (49erFX), the Singaporean Max Maeder (Formula Kite Men), the French Lauriane Nolot (Formula Kite Women), the Dutch Marit Bouwmeester (ILCA 6), the British Michael Beckett (ILCA) (7) and the British title of Emma Wilson have confirmed their intention to revalidate their title. The participation of the newly proclaimed world champions of 470 Junta in the waters of Mallorca, the Spanish Jordi Xammar and Nora Brugman is also guaranteed.

As is tradition, many teams take advantage of the dates before the Princess Sofia Trophy to advance their Olympic preparation in Palma Bay. One more year, they are invited to participate in the Mallorca Sailing Center Regatta, which calls the male and female Nacra and iQFOiL to compete from March 8 to March 10 and the 470 Junta from March 15 to March 17. The Trophy S.A.R. Princesa Sofía Mallorca by Iberostar is held under the joint organization of the Club Nàutic S'Arenal, the Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa, the Real Club Náutico de Palma, the Real Federación Española de Vela and the Federación Balear de Vela, with the support of World Sailing and the main public institutions baleares.
