Jordi Xammar and Nora Brugman are the new world champions of 470. The Spanish were the most consistent among the 61 crews of 26 nationalities who competed for the title 2024 in the Bay of Palma under the organization of the Club Nàutic S'Arenal. Xammar and Brugman were subchampions in 2022 and 2023, and with this well-deserved title they reaffirm their candidacy for the medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
After Xammar and Brugman finished the British Vita Heathcote and Chris Grube, who starred in an extraordinary progression during the week and achieved the country square for Great Britain in Paris 2024. The third position was the world champions 2023, the Japanese Keiju Okada and Miho Yoshioka.
In the country classification, Britain achieved the title 470 Nations Trophy for the combined results of its crews ahead of Japan and Germany.
Nora Brugman recalled his predecessors in the honor panel of the 470 World Cup, where they already take place along with other large Spanish sails such as Antonio Gorostegui and Manuel Albalat (1974), Jordi Calafat and Kiko Sánchez Luna (1992 and 1993), Theresa Zabell and Patricia Guerra (1992), Theresa Zabell and Begoña Via Dufresne (1995 and 1996), Tara Pacheco and Berta Betanzos (2011), or Silvia Mas and Patricia Cantero (2021).
