The Spanish team, seventh and sixth in the two qualifying sleeves of the day, could not repeat the final as in Abu Dabi... the Spaniards say goodbye to Sydney with a winning test and being very competitive in wind conditions

The Spanish team of SailGP fought until the last moment, but could not repeat the final as in Abu Dabi. He changed the wind orientation and the race field in Sydney, on a day when the wind blew again, allowing the F50 to offer their usual show.

The Spaniards, who needed two good races to get into the final, finished seven in the first of the two qualifying races of the day, after going back. Germany and Switzerland were surprised after yesterday's day, leading the test from the beginning and getting an excellent first and third place. First victory in SailGP for the German team. New Zealand (2nd), Rockwool Denmark (4th) and Australia (5th) again added more points than most of their persecutors, breaking the table and practically ensuring their presence at the end of the weekend.

In the first manga of the day, the Spanish team made a good departure, placing itself fourth in the passage of the first buoy. From there, Tom Slingsby's Australia began to open up with the rest of the countries, making clear its intentions for this Grand Prix, in which the aussies compete at home. The Spaniards adopted a change of strategy in the first split, and managed to place themselves second and stay in that position until the final section. Just before the last turn, however, a wind drop before the last turn relegated the Spain SailGP Team to the fourth place.

Spain took off from what happened in the first manga with a busy victory in the second. The Spanish team again made a good departure and, after putting first on door three, held a vibrant battle with ROCKWOOL Denmark and Australia, which tightened Diego Botin and company to the finish line.

In the third and last race of the day, ours went from less to more, ending in eighth position. Nathan Outteridge's New Zealand was first, followed by Rockwool Denmark and France. Australia, which went last, managed to get back to the fourth place.

Maximum pressure in Australian waters

In the absence of just one day to celebrate the long-awaited KPMG Australia Sail Grand Prix in the picturesque waters of Sydney port, the expectation increases throughout the fleet, as the most exciting water race seems to be up to its name as the teams prepare for a fifth record appearance in Australia this weekend.

The eighth SailGP season 4 event begins after the coronation of Peter Burling and the New Zealand SailGP team as winners of the United Arab Emirates, achieving consecutive victories in the last two events in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The consecutive victories lead the kiwis to the second place in the general ranking of the championship, shortening the gap to only six points behind the current champions and Australia of the local team Tom Slingsby.
