The Auditorium V Centenary of Baiona la Real, recorded a full total... in the image of Maria Muíña the authorities that presided over the act of surrender

For the sixth consecutive year, the sailing sport and the Royal Galician Federation of Vela have dressed as a gala to reward the best athletes, entities, technicians, judges, events and collaborators of the season.

With the sponsorship of the Concello de Baiona, Xunta de Galicia and Receptación de Pontevedra, the Auditorium V Centenario has been the venue this year of a gala full of homenajes in which Jesús Vázquez Almuiña, mayor of Baiona; Manuel Villaverde, president of the RFGV; José Ramón Lete, Secretary Xeral for or Sport and Marta Fernández- Tapas, first vice president of the Diputación de Pontevedra, among other members of the municipal corporation of Baiona and representatives of the nautical clubs related to the civil and security institutions.

During his opening speech, Manuel Villaverde stated that "We enter in a year in which Galicia will once again be represented in Paris, with Támara Echegoyen facing her fourth Games. With a Galician Vela Centre in Vilagarcía, agreements with Centres such as the one of Sports Tecnification of Pontevedra and with an excellent logistics and operational organization, the Galician candle enjoys good health and a consolidated project of the future thanks also to the great complicity with the clubs and nautical entities, true promoters of our sport and of the Federation, as an institutional body."

Among the awards, the one that received the Marítimo de Canido and the one of Vigo... for their organization within the week Abanca 2023 of the Spanish Windsurf Championship and the Spanish Cup of iQFoil, in which they competed those who will be on iQFoil at the Paris Games (Photo Juan Caballero)

The one in charge of closing a gala that was threatened by three performances of the Giros Group of the Municipal School of Dance was the mayor of Baiona, Jesús Vázquez Almuiña.

It was Vázquez Almuiña who also collected the last prize of the night, awarded to the Concello de Baiona for his dedication to the sports of the sea and as promoter of this Gala de la Vela Gallega.
