Laguardia & Moreira of the Galician pattern Gonzalo Araújo, was proclaimed winner of the first act of the Sailway Series; they have marked in Atlantic waters the beginning of the official season J70 by hand of the Class and the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo... just as the Real Club Nautico of Barcelona did the same days ago, with its J70 Barcelona Series, which focuses the attention of this class on Mediterranean waters.

If on Saturday the dominant winds on the day were from the west of up to 40 knots... on Sunday the day was not so hard, reigning sures of 8 to 10 knots. That was the beginning, yes, also with delay... just over an hour, which did not prevent the fleet from completing three sleeves, so the J70 could discard their worst score, which caused not a few changes in the classification.

Gonzalo Araújo with Laguardia & Moreira was made with the first manga, warning that he went out on the second day with the maximum ambition. To also highlight the regatta in this Sunday opening test, to the Bodegas Villanueva that was second, leaving the third position, for the leader then: the Noticia with an extraordinary crew in which they sail Catalan and Cantabrian.

News organized by Luis Cabiedes of the Real Club Nautico of Barcelona leads the J70 Sailway Series, which have officially opened in the Ria de Vigo, the official competitions of the monotype of reference in the waters of the Latin American Atlantic. The Catalan J70 broke its mast at the edge of the one in the afternoon when it was training and it supported hard winds of more than 30 knots... the Viguese pattern Guillermo Alonso gave it the mñastil of its J70 Seneca W... and those of Cabiedes managed to take the exit and compete... win. The fact leaves clear the usual maximum quality in the J70 crews... that bring together the regatists at a higher level.

After Noticia, who made a second and a first partial in the two sleeves held, was located the Valmy de Marina Coruña capitulated by Chuny Bermudez de Castro, which among its crew the Olympic medal Nico Rodríguez and the world champion of TP52 also Víctor Marino... closes the provisional podium Marnatura with Luis Bugallo to the cane (which was imposed on the first sleeve of the day). 2024-02-09: The Sailway Series opens the J70 season in the Atlantic

The J70 Sailway Series that mark the pulse of the monotype competitions at the Peninsular level, along with the Barcelona Winter Series that are being held in the Mediterranean by the Royal Nautical Club of the Catalan capital, begin in the light of the Viguese waters. And they do this with the support of one of the most active nautical companies at national level: Sailway, which took responsibility for supporting the season of the monotype of fashion and which is basically concentrated on the peninsula on three points: Barcelona, Lisbon and Vigo... where the bases of the numerous Spanish-Portuguese fleet are established.

In which will be the first act, two days are planned, in which a total of 8 sleeves (four per day) are planned, with a different beginning: for as long as the Saturday will begin the competition at one and a half in the afternoon... Sunday the beginning will be held with the clocks hands, pointing at 10 in the morning.

The Sailway Series consists of four acts: this weekend, but one in the middle of the next three months. This activity will be growing at the level that is being developed, as the Portuguese fleet that runs the legendary Lucitan Olympic Vasco Vascotte has already announced that in April there will be an important fleet of Lisbon (which make up 14 ships)... and that is that the Royal Spanish Vela Federation has officialized that the Spanish Cup 2024 of the class is held in Galician waters.

So suddenly the Noticia de Luis Cabiedes of the Real Club Nautico of Barcelona, is already in Vigo, to participate in the Sailway... and will do it with its gala crew. Like the Valmy FVO of Marina Coruña that comes with Chuny Bermudez de Castro to the cane, which has a very large crew, including the Olympic medal Nico Rodríguez, as well as the world champion of TP52, Victor Mariño.

Another new development is that Gonzalo Araújo, who has returned from the Americas, will be at the Laguardia & Moreira's command by replacing Jorge Martínez Doreeste. They will also compete Green April, Red April, Villanueva Bodegas, Pazo de Cea, Séneca SW, Correo Kessler del Náutico de Cabanas, Smail Giant, Marnatura and the Canteran boat... the Sailway Academy.

It will be a very special day to live, since the J70 Sailway coincides in the facilities of the Nautico de Vigo, with the Galician Championship of Optimist Trophy Oils April, in which more than a hundred young athletes will participate... who will compete next to their already consecrated idols.
