Last Saturday was the second competition of the Pyragüism season in Galicia, specifically at the reservoir of Pontillón do Castro in Verducido, where the Galician Winter Championship for K4 and C4 boats was held. More than 600 athletes representing more than thirty Galician clubs met at this event, willing to compete in a 3,000-meter-long circuit.

The tests planned for the day began in a timely manner at 10: 30 in the morning, extending until 18: 00. The intense competition kept the attention of participants and spectators throughout the day.

In the senior male category, the Piragüismo Rías Baixas was raised with the first position, followed closely by the Pontevedra Naval Club and the Club Piragüismo Cidade de Lugo in second and third place, respectively. In the female category, the Verdudo Piragüism took the victory, followed by the Lugo Cidade Piragüism and the Kayak Tudense.

In the youth category, the Piragüismo Cidade de Lugo was crowned champion in men, while the Club Ria de Betanzos stood out in women.

The male cadet category saw the Club de Mar Ria de Aldán as the winner, while, in female, the Pontequures Nautical Club took the victory.

The younger also had their space in the competition, where the Portonovo Fishermen's Club was won in the male children's category, and the Club Ria de Betanzos stood out in the female category.

In the veteran category, the laurels were for Piragüismo Vilaboa in men and the Nautico Firrete in women.

The exciting career of the male senior K4 ended with the victory of the boat of the Piragüismo Rías Baixas, made up of Joaquín Iglesias, Adrián Prada, Pablo Silva and Miguel Ordoñez. Second, the Nautico Firrete crossed the goal, while the third place was for the pirage of the Club Ria de Betanzos.

In the female category, the four members of the Kayak Tudense, Tania Fernández, Carmen Villar, Lucía Soutelo and Uxía Rodríguez took the gold medal in an exciting final in front of the athletes of the Verdudo Piragüismo, who had to settle for silver. The bronze was for the Piragüismo Cidade de Lugo.

In the canoe mode, the quartet formed by Fernando Busto, Diego Miguéns, Pedro Torrado and Kevin Longo rose with the first position, exceeding the two ships of the E.P. City of Pontevedra.
