The lanzarote iQFOiL Games have put the end and end this Friday to the last great date of the year with a day of action and perfect conditions. Windurfists of between 12 and 15 knots have been the dominant tonic in a Medal Series where the ten best windurists in each category have fought for a title that was finally awarded by the two undisputed championship leaders: Sharon Kantor and the current class world champion, Dutch Luuc Van Opzeeland. The Spanish Nacho Baltasar and Pilar Lamadrid, respectively, ended in the eighth and ninth positions.
After the final quarter and a semi-final in which the second and third in the general was left out, the French Nicolás Goyard and the Italian Nicolo Renna, the Grand Final faced the leader Luuc Van Opzeeland and the two who won access in the penultimate phase: the British Finn Hawkins and the Danish Johan Søe.
The Dutch, who led in a firm way since the second day of the championship, did not give way and again clearly dominated the decisive race. After placing himself at the front in the first step by buoy, Van Opzeeland held the pressure of his rivals and sentenced the final victory ahead of Hawkins, who was second, and Søe, who closed the podium of the lanzaroteña quote in the third drawer and rose with the win in sub 21.
