The Vizcaina waters of the Abra have hosted one more year... the most special and participatory regatta of the Spanish candle... which was won by the Akelarre of Mauricio Guibert in the Regata class, the Nexus of Javier Trueba in Cruciero I, the Kohen of Juan Carlos Estefanía in Cruciero II and the Biobizz of José Azqueta in the J80 division between the hundred cruises that sailed in a day with a loose wind from the southeast at first, to reach the eight knots in an impressive day.

In this very special edition, in the program of events... in which gold brooch was put on the celebrations of the 125 anniversary of the Maritime, a race of the Globe of Trainers took place with the participation of Kaiku, Zierbena, Lekittarra and Ondaroa in the regatta field of Portugalete and Santurtzi in a format of counter-watch by couples. The Lekittarra will pass into history as the winner of this Gallo Flag.

This year the Regata del Gallo had the collaboration of the Department of Transport, Mobility and Tourism of the Foral Diputación of Bizkaia, the City of Getxo and that of Portugalete, as well as other supports such as those of El Correo and the Bizkaia Bridge.

This Saturday, one of the most expected sailing races of each season comes back with new... the Vizcaina waters of the Abra again, in the middle of December and at the Christmas parties, one of the most special and participatory races in Cantábrico: the traditional Regata del Gallo de Vela.

This year, in addition, there is a novelty for the 125th anniversary of the Maritime... as a race of trainers will take place with the participation of Kaixu, Zierbena, Lekittarra and Ondarra, from 12.30 hours, in the regatta field of Portugalete and Santurtzi in a format of counter-clock by couples (two long and a cidefa) to determine thus the final tanda and the consolation of the also called Regata del Gallo de traineras.

There will also be a light candle exhibition in the vicinity of the Pendant Bridge, as well as sailing workshops and live music on a day that will be a party and that hopes to attract hundreds of people on both sides of the Ria.

This edition of the Regata del Gallo has the collaboration of the Department of Transport, Mobility and Tourism of the Diputación Foral de Bizkaia, the City of Getxo and the City of Portugalete. In addition, they are as collaborators of this event El Correo and the Bizkaia Bridge.
