On the 15th and 16th of December is celebrated in the waters of the beautiful Lusian city of Porto, the Anniversary Regata, which has at stake the Ruy Moreira Trophy, reserved for cruises and Platu 25.

The Moreira Family, is synonymous with friendship and fraternity between the peoples of Galicia and Portugal... its Patriarch Ruy was one of the great drivers in its beloved and brother country of Portugal, of the Mount Real Club of Yates of Baiona... due to its great friendship with Jesus Valverde Viñas who was the creator of the Mon Real in the 1960s and with Rudy Burmester... the best friend of Jesus with whom he had one of the most powerful sailing ships of the Iberian fleet: the Atlantic Silver, in which the Pires of Lima later sailed.

Ruy was also president of the Leixóes Atlantic Sailing Clube and the Yate Clube, as he also had his son Luis Miguel who was even president of the Portuguese Sailing Federation. Ruy son is currently, and by second term, mayor of the City of Porto.

The event is organized by the Yate Clube of Porto and has the support of the Harbour Authority, and this is its announcement of race.
