The rupture of a sensor at the top of the wing prevented the Spanish team from fighting the fourth manga of the weekend... after solving the technical problem, the Spaniards were able to participate in the last race, in which they were novies... New Zealand, winner of the Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix after imposing on Australia and Canada at an end of heart attack

Bitter Sunday for the Spanish team of Sail GP in Dubai... who had no choice of looking for the gestures and fighting to reach the final. The rupture of a sensor at the top of the wing prevented ours from fighting the fourth manga of the weekend.

Emirates Britain started the day the same way it ended yesterday: with a victory that brought the British closer to the great end of the weekend. New Zealand and Denmark, for their part, fought for the second square, which finally fell off the side of the team piloted by Peter Burling.

In the second race of the day, the ship of Spain was finally seen, which failed to lift the flight and ended novies. With a configuration of five, on the F50 Victoria were Diego Botin, Florian Trittel, Joel Rodríguez, Nicole van der Velden and Stewart Dodson.

The end of the Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix could not be more exciting. New Zealand, Australia and Canada competed throughout the race until they reached the last buoy. The New Zealanders, who had been in third position for much of the final, agreed to the last right of way turn over Australians and Canadians.

2023-12-09: An irregular day of Spain in Dubai... that ends eighth after the opening

Jimmy Spihill (Australia) has been the great feeling this Saturday, achieving three of three possible podiums with the Australian team

Day of ups and downs on the first day of the Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix presented by P & O Marinas. The Spain SailGP Team was from less to more throughout the morning, ending with a second place in the third race of Mina Rashid.

In the first race of the day, the Spanish team went back, hampered by the traffic of the first positions and the last-minute maneuver by the Danish team, which was faster. The Spaniards arrived penultimate to the first buoy, for which France first passed, followed by Switzerland. The Spain SailGP Team, led by the pilot Diego Botin, managed to improve on its way to the second door, but ended up falling to the last place.

In the second manga, the ten teams moved to a 4-way configuration, making the wood Nicole van der Velden the Grinder of Los Gallos. For the second time, the Spanish team went far back; so far back that the penalties to Canada and Germany barely benefited him. Soon after, the German team would be disqualified, and the Spaniards would ascend to the ninth square.

Jimmy Spihill, an Australian pilot in Dubai due to Tom Slingsby's paternity leave, led his people to the first position, without finding any rival on the way. New Zealand, Canada and France played the second square. Spithill has certainly been the great feeling of this first day of career, achieving three pods of three possible. Australia has the end of tomorrow to shoot. In the last buoy, a great maneuver of the Spain SailGP Team allowed Spain to overcome Britain and take the eighth position.

The last race of the day saw a very different face of the Spanish team. The Gallos made a very good way out and managed to overcome the first buoy in second position, after taking advantage of France's pinch. Ours were very close to colliding with the French F50, but were able to maneuver dramatically before facing door number two.

Switzerland was in the lead and dreamed of taking the victory after two very irregular bands, but the veteran of Sir Ben Ainsley, the wind rachas and some other bad decision relegated the team piloted by Sébastien Schneiter to the sixth square. The Swiss are unable to take off at this SailGP Season 4.

Spain came first after passing door three, but they ended up giving in to Britain. In any case, the Spaniards managed to keep Australia at bay, which came from behind at full speed, and secure second place.

At the end of the first day in Dubai, the Spaniards march octavos in the general classification, eight points from Canada, which closes the podium with 21 points. Australia (26 points) and New Zealand (21 points) respectively hold the first and second positions, followed by Britain and France, both with 20 points.

2023-12-08: Botin, Trittel, Joel, Nicole and Cardona will defend Spain at the SailGP in Dubai

The Spanish team of SailGP reaches the city-emirate in the fourth square, tied to points with the United States (3rd) and Britain (5th)... two of the great protagonists of the weekend will be Taylor Canfield (USA) and Jimmy Spihill (Australia)

Two months after a historic Spain Sail Grand Prix - 124; Andalusia - Cadiz, the F50 visit the waters of Dubai. The emblematic Emirati city hosts the last event of the year in SailGP, with two days of action loaded with adrenaline in Mina Rashid.

The Spaniards come to the city - emirate with a desire to recover from what happened in Cadiz, where ours stayed at the gates of the final in the last race of the weekend. In addition, the competition table shows a triple tie to points between the Spanish, United States and Britain team for the third square, which would now be for the country of the bars and stars. The return to the competition has become long, and the teams feel like flying over the F50.

Two of the great protagonists of this weekend will be Taylor Canfield (USA) and Jimmy Spihill (Australia). The name of the two pilots has not stopped ringing in the last few weeks. Canfield is the new American pilot after the purchase of the equipment by Marc Lasry's Sports Avenue Fund. This is the largest acquisition of a team in SailGP history.

For its part, Spihill will cover Tom Slingsby's driver position on the Australian team due to his paternity loss, before leaving the competition to prepare for the Italian team's landing in Season 5. We'll have to see how these movements affect two of the favorites to be in the great San Francisco final.
