In the waters of Marin, in the heart of Pontevedra, the Pyragüism and rowing competitions of the Abanca Week were held, which marked the closure of the Rías Baixas III version. It was a very long day, in which fans enjoyed the evolutions of palists and remers. The Abanca Week has only the J80 Sailing Series Finals, which with the rank of the Spanish Championship will face the 12 best crews in all of Spain in the second half of January of the hand of the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña, and which had been postponed by the seasons of last November.
It began the strenuous day with victory in the Pyragüism of the City of Pontevedra, which was imposed on the Augas Dragon Boat of La Coruña by 3-1... the palists of Galicia Sur were imposed in the female, male and BSC categories; while Galicia Norte took the victory in mixed crews. To highlight the participation of two Sub23 world champions in both formations: the Mallorcan Alex Graneri with La Coruña and Claudia Couto with Pontevedra.

At two in the afternoon, the rowing began. The Concello de Marín together with the Social Plan Ence, the Samertolameu Sports Society, the Harbour Authority of Marin the Military Naval School, and the federations of Piragüismo and Vela... had worked hard to make nothing fail... because to the villa pontevedresa had arrived thousands of people between participants and spectators and the avalanche of both buses, as well as vehicles with trailers, as private individuals. The reality is that everything went perfectly and the mounted device was really spectacular facilitating the successful development of the competition.
With British punctuality they competed in tandas launched (they left in blocks don differences of a few minutes, in order to be able to meet the program of the more than 100 batels participating) starting with the youngest of the female categories and then doing the same with the men. In line of exit 46 female and 55 male batels, with final victory in the medallion for the Coruñés club of Cabo de Cruz, which managed to be imposed with 3 ores, 2 cans and 1 bronze. The second place was for the Club de Remo Puebla also from the province of La Coruña and the third for the dean... for the Samertolameu Sports Society based in Meira- Moaña in the heart of Vigo. They completed the list of the medallion: Sail of Chapela, Vila of Cangas, Mecos of O Grove, Cesantes and Rianxo. The Boiro club, the number one currently in the north-west, moved a super team to Marin, composed of 16 batels (8 male and 8 female). The second in number was Samertolameu.

The joy was overflowing when the Mayor of Marín María Ramallo gave the captain of Cabo de Cruz his winning plate of the Galicia Cup. In the past, Carlos Casas de Ron de Ence had done the same with the subchampions, the Club de Remo Puebla and Francisco José Estevez concelleiro de Marín with the dean, with the Society of Sports Samertolameu, bronze of the Galicia Ence Villa de Marín Cup, which has put the end and end in 2023 to the Abanca Week, in which have been held from the first week of September, light sailing competitions, heavy sailing, monotypes sailing, nautical skiing, wakeboard, kayak of sea, rowing and dragon. Historical day in the river of Pontevedra for the week Abanca Rías Baixas III, which disembarks on Saturday in Marín, with the Galicia Copas of Piragüismo in the morning and rowing in the afternoon that will have in play the Enceo Trofeos - Villa de Marín. These are two events that had been postponed by the unfavorable meteor, and so it was decided to take advantage of a date, for two Olympic sports that belonged to the same federation until the 1960s, return for one occasion to compete together on the same track. The fact is that the dean, the Samertolameu Sports Society of Meira, will not only mount the field of rowing races... but that of the dragons boat 12 that will compete in the morning from 11: 00.
It is important to highlight the great support in the organizational tasks of the clubs Piragüismo Olívico, Club de Piragüismo Tambo de Marín, the Auga Dragon Boat de La Coruña, the Cidade de Pontevedra, the Samertolameu de Meira-Moaña... as well as the Marin Military Naval School, the Marin Concello, the Marin Harbour Authority and the Federations of Remo and Piragüismo de Galicia.
In the dragons, the script will be of a Challenge between the north and the south of Galicia... in the north the Auga Dragon Boat of La Coruña and in the south the Cidade of Pontevedra. The sleeves in four categories: male, female, open and BCS... to highlight the presence of two champions of the Sub23 world: the mallorquín Alex Graneri (will strengthen Galicia Norte) and the pontevedresa Claudia Couto (will compete with the Cidade).
At two o'clock in the afternoon the meeting of delegates of the rowing, as half an hour later the Galicia Cup of Remo Ence Villa de Marín began... was seen coming in the last editions, in which first it reached the 50 batels... to reach last year's 80. The whole Galician rowing had the illusion of reaching 100, when in the race cancelled in November for bad weather about 90 batels were registered. And the success of the historical record at the national level was achieved on Tuesday afternoon, by confirming all the previously registered clubs that would be in Marin... and adding two new ones: total 55 male batels and 46 female... total 101.
Vila de Cangas, Tiran, Virxen da Guía de Vigo, Rianxo, Ares, Samertolameu, Meira, Puebla, A Pobra, Mecos, San Martiño, Chapela, Arealonga, Mugardos, Celeiro... and Cabo de Cruz who will participate with 16 batels! Of which half will be boys and the other half girls. Ence and the Concello de Marín, by the hand of the Abanca Week, generate a day of two of the most laureate and traditional Olympic sports, to be lived in Marín, a day that will be recorded in the history of nautical sports.
