The Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña was proclaimed winner of the third edition of the Isabel Zendal Cidade da Coruña Regata, the first event of the Rías Altas version of the Abanca Week that organizes the Nautico Coruñés. The clubs that will compete: the Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona, and the Nautics of La Coruña, Sanxenxo and Vigo for Galicia. The Basque Country will be represented by the team of the Real Club Marítimo del Abra-Real Sporting Club de Getxo, by Andalusia the Nautico de Puerto Sherry gaditano, by baleales el Nàutic S'Arenal and by the canarian sailing the Real Club Nautico Arrecife de Lanzarote. A total of eight female teams, with a very high level.

Already on Sunday with the same schedule will be measured in the final phase, the finalists and at the edge of the five o'clock in the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña, will take place the closing ceremony, with the award of which will be the third edition of the Regata Isabel Zendal that has come to stay, and that wants to become in the medium term not only a national reference... that is already... but an international cut-off event within the Abanca Week, in which is called the Rías Altas- Cidade da Coruña version.

Isabel Zendal was born in Ordes (La Coruña) on February 26, 1773, she was a Spanish nurse, rector of the Orphanate of Charity of La Coruña. He took part in the Royal Philanthropic Expedition of the Francisco Javier Balmis Vaccine, taking care of the twenty-two children of the House of Expressions of La Coruña who traveled to America, aged between three and nine years, and of the twenty-six who went to the Philippines, during the ten years that the expedition to bring the smallpox vaccine to the Spanish overseas territories were vaccinated 250,000 young people... which in the end saved hundreds of thousands of lives in the New Continent and Philippines. She is considered by the World Health Organization as the first nurse in history on international mission.
