The organization of the Galicia Cup of Dragon Boat 12 attempted to celebrate the second event scheduled within the Rías Baixas III version of the Abanca Week, in the Pista Mayor Antonio Blanco de Marín. And it did so thanks to the work and support of the Military Naval School, the clubs of Oragüismo Olívico de Vigo and Tambo de Marín, as well as the Harbour Authority, the Galician Federation of Piragüismo and the Concello de Marín.

The first hour of Saturday was impeccably mounted the competition track, between the docks of Marin and the Naval School... so that the more than three hundred palists from all over the Northwest Euroregion would not go back empty to their bases... but all the organizational efforts were vague, when the Maritime Captains at the edge of the morning, at an orange alert from the Xunta de Galicia, were forced to cancel the competition.

For the third consecutive weekend postponed the competition of the Abanca Week for the bad conditions of the meteum... first were the J80 Sailing Final Series of La Coruña, then the Galicia Cup of Remo Ence Villa of Marín... and this Saturday the Galicia Cup of Piragüismo in the waters of Marín in the middle of Pontevedra was the cancelled. In total, the three acts of Vela, Remo and Piragüismo were postponed, with more than a thousand athletes from all over Spain.

The Organizers have already decided, after informing the Galician Federation of Piragüismo on the same Saturday, to celebrate the cancelled races on the morning of December 2. A new format is now being studied that will be discussed between the parties so that the Galicia Cup, a North-South challenge, so that the best team of Vigo and Pontevedra, will face the best of La Coruña, by the autonomous scepter.

For the next weekend the first event of the Rías Altas-Cidade da Coruña version of the Abanca Week... the Isabel Zendal Regata of J80 for high-level female sports crews... with selected from Galicia (La Coruña, Vigo, Sanxenxo and Baiona), as well as from Asturias, Euskadi, Canarias and Baleares... by the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña.

From the hand of the Club Piragüismo Tambo de Marin and the Olívico de Vigo with the support of the Federation Galician de Piragüismo is celebrated in pontevedresas the Galicia Ence- Villa de Marín de Dragon Boat 12, which marks the beginning of the Rías Baixas III version of the Abanca Week, which will be completed with the Galicia de Remo Cup to celebrate on December 2 and which had been postponed by the temporary last Saturday, and in which it is worked to get all the historical records of participation.

Four are the categories: male, female, mixed and BCS... and it should be noted that in the BCS category (Breast Cancer Survivor) they compete palists who have suffered or suffered this serious disease and who have found in this sports specialty a contribution to strengthening the heart and immune system of the patients, to reducing their sense of fatigue and to maintaining a healthy weight: to improve, in the end, their quality of life.

On the way out to highlight the participation of the Asturias Dragon Boat, which have several athletes within the national selected, and who already know what it is to win a Spanish Cup... it must also be noted that by La Coruña there will be the Bolboretas A Coruña and the Auga Dragon Boat, by the southern Galician Olívico de Vigo, School of Piragüismo City of Pontevedra and Club of Piragüismo Verdudo.

The closing of the Galicia Cup of Piragüismo will be at the Paseo Mayor Antonio Blanco on the edge of the one and a half of the afternoon... in the event of rain the alternative is the Municipal Palace, the Casa Consistorial de Marín.
