Great success of the Spanish ORC (Southeast) Championship that ended in Cartagena.
Great success of the Spanish ORC (Southeast) Championship that ended in Cartagena.
The Region of Murcia already has its national champions ORC: Pez de Abril (CN Villa de San Pedro) of José Mª Meseguer in ORC 1; Dieselrec (RCR Cartagena) of Manuel Gambín in ORC 2; Pulpo Negro (CN Portmán) of Pedro Gil in ORC 3 and Tentón (RCR Cartagena), armed by Gonzalo Abad in ORC 4 have been made with the title after three days of competition and four completed tests. The closing day at the Real Club de Regatas in Cartagena has been marked by the late departure, almost an hour and a half later than planned.
In the ORC 1 class, the script of these two previous days has not changed, with an April Fish leading the test from beginning to end. Nor in the two squares in the back, with Kundaka-Elite Sails and Talasur- Fandango 300 maintaining a nice fight. Thus, the National podium is closed with April Pez, adding 3.1 points, followed by Kundaka-Elite Sails that has obtained a return of 6.2 points while Talasur- Fandango 300 has had to conform with the third square with 9.3 points.

As in the second day, the exit on the last day was very worked out,..., when the wind arrived (Pep Portas photo).
The ORC 2 class has been a 1, at least in the first square. Dieselrec has imposed its law and after obtaining the compensated times it amounts to five partial wins. The second square in this class has been for Shamal who the last test and already in those compensated times has not been able to overcome the third square, behind Inma, achieving its best partial in the National of Cartagena. The final podium is completed with Dieselrec, Shamal and Cañas II.
Much more challenging and exciting has been the class ORC 3. Little difference between the first and the second. Pulpo Negro has been the absolute winner but Zalata has been the one who took the last win in Cartagena Bay, insufficient to get the national title, staying second. Kochab, with a fourth place today, has the bronze. Tenton has also been strong and strong in the ORC 4, achieving just like the rest of the winners four out of four. Garola II has played his bazas, although it has finished fourth, with the discard and the partials of Beluga One, knew that the second hole of the podium had it secured. He was not lucky today and had to settle for fourth place. Beluga One, third of General ORC 4, today has finished third.
The award of trophies, held in the village SPAR, has been marked by the samples and actions of solidarity, as the boats Kochab and Agüica 2.0 have donated to the Regatas Club their cash awards for charitable associations. But it has not been the only gesture, since within the trophies and within the framework of the Second SPAR South-East Cruises League, the total weight of the selling tribulations, translated into cash: Tenton and Dieselrec, will be fully donated to charitable associations that decide both ships. The trophy and closing ceremony was chaired by Óscar Villar, Capt. Marítimo de Cartagena; Pedro Román, President of the Federation of Sailing of the Region of Murcia; Blas Isaac, President Association of Nautical Clubs of the Region of Murcia; Luis Navarro, Director General SPAR - Grupo Upper and Miguel Ángel Celarán, President of the RCR of Cartagena, who has been accompanied by his Commodore, Juan Antonio Hernández.
