The general coordinator of the rowing of the week Abanca Lisardo Pérez Villaverde, who is the current president of one of the most prestigious and single clubs of the Spanish rowing... the Society Deportiva Samertolameu de Meira- Moaña, made the decision to postpone the celebration of the Galicia Ence- Villa de Marín, in the face of weather predictions in waters of the south of Galicia.

After asking the institutions to this effect, from the Harbour Authority of Marín, Federación Galician de Remo, Capitanía Marítima de Vigo, Escuela Naval Militar and weather experts, made the decision: "We are in national record numbers because in the afternoon of yesterday there were 83 batels registered, and there were three important clubs missing... so the magical 100 was within reach. But we must bear in mind that we are talking about 600 or more sportsmen and in the face of such adverse conditions and the prevailing youth... the first is the safety of those who will be in the water. It is also very likely that the figure we will reach on December 2 will be higher and we will achieve the sports target we pursue... and also safe."

To give an idea of the expectation that this Galicia Cup has generated, to say that Cabo de Cruz, the top reference of Galicia in the ACT League, has confirmed the participation of 16 teams!!!... 8 male and 8 female. A total of 44 men & apos; s and 39 women & apos; s teams, belonging to the main clubs in the Spanish Northwest, have been registered.

The Abanca Week thus lives its second postponement, as the end of the national series of J80 de La Coruña have been delayed for the month of January; while the rowing has now been located on the first Saturday of December. The next act to be the Galicia Cup of Dragon Boat 12, which will be next Saturday in Marín de la mano de Ence and the Concello mariñense, have already confirmed that there will be at least 30 teams from Castilla León, Galicia and Asturias, with four hundred athletes and just like in the rowing with almost a female participation of 50%.

Marin has been on the Abanca Week for ten years, in which he has organized the Galicia Ence-Villa de Marín de Remo, achieving records of undoubted success... reaching the participation of the 100 batels... target figure, of which almost half will be female crews. For its part, the Pyragüism has been in Abanca for several years, but it had never had a test in the Pontevedra River... which has been realized thanks to the Social Plan of Ence 2023.

The idea of including it this year was proposed to the president of the Fegapi, Alfredo Bea, and the answer was immediate: a Dragon boat 12 event will be organized and also with the quality of the Galicia Cup, so the set bears the name of the Galicia Cup of Remo and Piragüismo Ence-Villa de Marín.

It will be on two consecutive Saturdays, the first on Remo and the second on Piragüismo. For the batels there is a great atmosphere and the number of competitors will be very high with units of practice all of the most prominent rowing clubs in the Northwest. The competition will start at 3.30 this Saturday, and is scheduled to close a little after 6: 00 in the afternoon. The Alcalde Antonio Blanco (which will also be the same for Piragüismo), to the socaire between the port facilities and those of the Naval School.

The Dragons will compete on Saturday, 11, beginning at 10: 30 in the morning, and ending at 2: 00 in the afternoon. It will be 20 / 30 units of 12 seats, of which half will be male, and the rest between mixed and female... of Valladolid, Gijón, La Coruña and province, as well as rias of Arousa, Pontevedra and Vigo.
