The test that closed the Olympic Slalom season was the Spanish Championship of the modality that was played in the Parc Olimpic del Segre and that served to crown the local, Miquel Travé, as the new Spanish champion of C1 and K1 in the absolute category.

Two wins that put the gold brooch into its season as, remember, it achieved the gold by teams in the European Krakow in K1 and, in the same competition, it added the subchampionship of the old continent in C1. However, La Seu's was disappointed at his participation in the Lee Valley World Championships, where he failed to reap the desired results, which he purged a week later with the medal he won at the Paris Olympic test, at the last World Cup of international tests, where in C1 he was third on the podium.

In this way, Travé reached this Spanish championship with a better mood and a track that he knows perfectly. At the end of the C1, it was clearly imposed after a time of 87.83 seconds, with almost three seconds difference from Luis Fernández (Club Deportivo Miños Os Teixugos), a palist of the national team that was the best ranked in the world of London. Third in the podium was Borja González (Club Piragüismo Penedo Teimporta), which with a penalty of two seconds remained almost 10 of the gold of Miquel.

That was the first of his victories because, in the penultimate race of the day, he again gave the best of himself to conquer the golden presea in the K1. He made a time of 85.49, the best of all the weekend among all the participants, and was imposed for only 0.16 seconds on a colossal Manu Ochoa (Club Deportivo Miños os Teixugos). Third in this test was Pau Etxaniz who finished his course without penalties and only 0.55 seconds from the time achieved by the winner.

In the female category, in K1, the surprise came as Maialen Chourraut (Club Atlético San Sebastián) was unable to revalidate the title of champion he had held since 2018. The one in Lasarte could only be third because of the four touches with

the doors he made in his final descent. It remained at 4.56 of the gold, a metal that Laia Sorribes (Club Náutico Mig Segre) achieved, which, at the mercy of a clean race of contact with the doors, marked a record of 93.24. In second place he concluded Mónica Doria Vilarrubla (Club Cadi Canoe - Kayak). The Andorran left the victory in a touch at the last door as it only separated it from the gold 1.60 seconds.

More forceful was the victory of Klara Olazabal in C1, that of the Santiagotarrak Sports Society, came to this championship in full form, showing them were their times in classifications and semi-finals, where they always got the best results. It was not otherwise in the final (96.58 seconds) as Klara exceeded the second in 2.60 seconds. A silver that ended up falling on the chest of Mira Lazkano (Club Atlético San Sebastián) that on its way suffered a penalty.

The third component of the podium was the Catalan Nuria Vilarubla (Club Cadi Canoe - Kayak), which ended at 3.40 seconds from the winner and, had it not been penalized at a door, would have gone up to the second step of the podium.

In addition, this championship was held on Saturday, October 21, in the evening, the patrol finals, and on Sunday the Junior category finals, where the most prominent was Anna Simona's C1 and K1 win (Club Cadi Canoe - Kayak) that he wanted to be no less than his club partner and achieved the double in his category. In the Junior boys, the title of Spanish champion at C1 was for Marc Vicente, and that of the K1 for Jaume Aguilera, both of Cadi Canoe-Kayak.

Now the competition will stop until next February, when a new season begins where the goal of the main Spanish palists will be placed on the selectives (with date to be determined) who will decide the names of the athletes who come to Paris 2024 to compete at the Olympic Games.
