The Association of Recreo Navigators and the Royal Observatory of the San Fernando Navy in Cadiz organize an Astronomical Navigation Seminar.

The course, of a week of duration in the afternoon, aims to make known the basic principles of astronomical navigation, which is the one that allows us to know our position and to guide us by observing the celestial bodies, without the need to use any GPS device, as did the sailors during the centuries of gold of navigation.

Between Monday 20 and Friday 24 November, the attendees will have the opportunity to hold theorical-practical sessions given by teachers of the Royal Institute and Observatory of the Navy and the Higher Centre for Scientific Research, at the facilities of the Royal Observatory of the Navy in San Fernando.

During the practical sessions the participants will learn to use from the sexant to the nautical almanac.
