Following the proposal made by the Olympic Preparation Committee on 6 September, on Saturday 7 October the Board of Directors unanimously approved the nominated teams for the country places assigned in classes 49er, 49er FX, Nacra 17, 470 Junta, iQFOiL Male and Formula Kite Female. In this way, Diego Botín and Florian Trittel in 49er, Támara Echegoyen and Paula Barceló in 49er FX, Tara Pacheco and Andrés Barrio in Nacra 17, Jordi Xammar and Nora Brugman in 470 Junta, Nacho Baltasar in iQFOiL Male and Gisela Polido in Formula Kite Female obtain their Olympic passport for Paris 2024 which, following the usual protocol, will be sealed when this decision is communicated to the Spanish Olympic Committee.

This decision was taken by the Olympic Preparation Committee (CPO) in accordance with the two options provided for in the PreOlympic Regulation (NP) published on March 8, 2023. The aim is to optimize the preparation of athletes to reach the Games with the maximum guarantees of obtaining new medals for the Spanish sport that has more often risen to the Olympic podium (21 medals).

Following this NP, "After the end of the second cycle, in those classes that have obtained place for our country in the JJOO Paris 2024, the CPO may decide the Spanish representative on the Olympic team in Paris 2024, based on the following criteria: 1. If there is a clear difference in the results and performance obtained by the different members of the Olympic team during the second cycle (since the publication of this NP). The CPO may, on a technical basis, decide the Spanish representative for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games at the beginning of the 3rd cycle."

Thus, after assessing the sports trajectory of this year, as well as the results obtained and based on the technical reports of coaches and DPO, the squares of 49er: Diego Botín and Florian Trittel; 49er FX: Támara Echegoyen and Paula Barceló; Nacra 17: Tara Pacheco and Andrés Barrio; 470 Joint: Jordi Xammar and Nora Brugman; iQFOiL Masculino: Nacho Baltasar; and Formula Kite Feminino: Gisela Pulido.

This has been the choice for the ILCA 7 and iQFOiL Women classes, in which a general improvement of the class is sought in order to better shape the medal options. This is the case of ILCA 7, where both Joaquín Blanco and Joel Rodríguez were in positions to get the country square; and the iQFOiL Feminino, where the possibility of improvement is evident for both Pilar Lamadrid and Nicole van der Velden.

They continue in the team both Silvia Mas and Nico Rodríguez as the second crew of 470 Junta, as Cristina Pujol and Ana Moncada in ILCA 6 and Bernat Cortés and Alex Citation in Formula Kite Male, the latter still in phase of achieving the country square for the ILCA 6 and Formula Kite M. The next World and European Championships in each of these categories, as well as the French Olympic Week, are the quotes included in the country-specific calendar for Paris 2024
