Rolex and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, the event's organizer, have been working closely together for almost 40 years. The longevity of this relationship has been the key to the success and evolution of a week-long event supported by the International Maxi Association

Since the early 1980s, large-length shipowners and crew have been attracted by the Esmeralda Coast and the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup. In its edition number 33, it brought together a half a hundred ships of between 18.3 and 43.6 meters in length distributed in six classes for a week of intense high-calibre competition.

The Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup 2023 is a special harvest. Four days of race offered the entire repertoire of the sailing experience of the Esmeralda Coast, from the hard winds and big waves of the initial days to the light and unstable breezes conditions that closed the contest.

The praises were for the winners of each of the six classes in which the fleet was distributed, which showed great regularity and expertise in dealing with both the whims of the conditions and the formidable nature of its rivals. The winners were: the WallyCento Galateia (Maxi Class A), the Maxi 72 Bella Mind (Class B), the Button 65 Spirit of Lorina (Class C), the Wally 101 Y3K (Supermaxi), the Class J Svea (Class J) and the Irene 78 Allegra (Maxi multicasco).
