On the F50 Victoria today, more inspired than ever, were: Diego Botin, Florian Trittel, Joel Rodriguez, Nicole van der Velden, Joan Cardona, Bernardo Freitas - the first and the final - and Stewart Dodson in the second

The Spanish team has done it again and has entered a final of SailGP, after a first day of racing where the exits were resisted, those of Diego Botin have sailed to win and have finished third in a Saint- Tropez that has tested the entire fleet.

Seconds in the general classification to just two points of the Australians, the Spaniards already see the Grand Prix of Cadiz where they hope to continue with the good results and give the best show to the Red Tide. Finally, it has been Emirates GBR that has been made with the French Sail Grand Prix 124; Saint-Tropez in front of an Australia that, although dominating for almost the whole final, has not been able to rise with the prize.

Two seconds, only two seconds have separated Spain from an exit that could have led them to victory in Saint- Tropez, yet the Spanish team has achieved a third position in a Grand Prix marked by the wind and waves. The Gallos have starred in an incredible ascent, leaving seconds in the first two races of the day and falling, against all prognosis, in the final. In the race for the wheel of Saint- Tropez the Spain SailGP Team was measured with two legends of the candle: Australia and Emirates GBR, with two pilots who recently praised the great work of the Spanish team and its pilot Diego Botin.

After this exciting Saint-Tropez, SailGP is heading for Taranto on September 23 and 24, now yes, before the local event of the Spanish team, the Spain Sail Grand Prix of Andalucía - Cadiz to be held on October 14 and 15, one of the inescapable quotes of the competition calendar.

2023-09-09: Spain reaches the end of Saint Tropez with possibilities

The precise strategy of the Spanish team allows Diego Botin and his team competes tomorrow for a ticket to the end of Saint-Tropez
New Zealand, Australia and the United States have been the winners of the first day of the France Sail Grand Prix Saint- Tropez

First day of regatta on the Blue Coast... and again, uncertainty has again dominated the regatta field of France Sail Grand Prix Saint- Tropez, with a fast wind and changing pressures that have marked a day in which no team has managed to dominate them completely.

The success with the exits has undoubtedly been the outstanding task of the Spanish team during today's three races. In all of them, however, Spain has shown great determination to shorten as much distance as possible. The Spaniards have finished the first day in an equal seventh position that places it just five points from the third, or what is the same, a ticket for the end of tomorrow Sunday.

In the first manga the Botin have achieved a sixth position very much fought to the end with Germany, after a collision with the Canadian ship, capitulated by a reckless Phil Robertson, who has been severely punished by the organization with eight points and has finished the last day in the classification.

Since that incident, Spain has demonstrated its tempere and decision and has managed to end the day with the possibility of qualifying for the end. Proof of of this, has been the brilliant role they have played in the second race when after having had to be in the last place of the grill by an early exit and overcome technical problems, Los Gallos have crossed the goal in fourth place. In addition, that feat has been successfully saved after leaving behind a whole legend of this sport as is the British pilot Sir Ben Ainslie.

On the F50 Victoria today were: Diego Botin, Florian Trittel, Joel Rodriguez, Nicole van der Velden, Joan Cardona, Stewart Dodson - the first and third chariots - and Bernardo Freitas in the second. A team that seems to have fit perfectly to judge by the good start of the season.

This weekend in Saint- Tropez will be the starting pistolet to the European stage of SailGP... the Spanish team returns to the competition after a summer full of success winning the first race of the season in Chicago and its first event in Los Angeles and with Diego Botin and Florian Trittel getting bronze at the World Olympic Classes of The Hague in 49th class, ensuring its square in Paris 2024.

The Spain SailGP Team is preparing to fly over the Blue Coast with the view set in the global classification. After their epic victory in the United States, the Spaniards come to Europe taking the second position on the table and closely following the current champions, Australia, with only one point of difference.

This situation certifies the impressive start of the Spanish season and especially the good work done by the team since its arrival at the competition. Without going further, this same week a new chapter of the Racing on the Edge series of SailGP was released, which under the title "The take-off of Los Gallos" shows the Spanish team's long-standing rise and its historic victory at the Oracle Los Angeles Sail Grand Prix "124; Port Of Los Angeles.

On the F50 Victory the entire team: Diego Botin, Florian Trittel, Joel Rodriguez, Nicole van der Velden, Joan Cardona, Stewart Dodson and Bernardo Freitas. A dream team with a dream: to overcome in the classification those of Tom Slignsby, unbeatable to date but only one point from the Spaniards right now.

Once the F50 Victoria has flown over the waters of the Blue Coast, it will set a course for Taranto to try to conquer the Ionian Sea in what will be the prior to the long-awaited return home of the Gallos. The Red Tide already counts the remaining days for the weekend of October 14 and 15 in Cadiz to be able to encourage and see the Spanish team.
