The Global Solo Challenge comes out of La Coruña

The peculiar return to the world without a stop... the Global Solo Challenge has begun in La Coruña
The great adventure of the Global Solo Challenge has finally begun... on Saturday, August 26, at the edge of three in the afternoon, the first pattern scheduled to leave, Dafydd Hughes, born in 1960 and originating in Wales, crossed the exit line on board its S & S 34, Bendigedig.
This event marks the beginning of its extraordinary adventure: a solo and no-stop world. About fifteen knots of wind from the west-west and a blue sky, occasionally covered by grey clouds that passed quickly with some rains, accompanied the first GSC participant to release ties from La Coruña.
The Global Solo Challenge fuses the adrenaline of the competition with the challenge of turning the world around on its own. Organized by the ocean navigator Marco Nannini, the event offers an accessible and exciting opportunity for sailors from all over the world to challenge themselves on an extraordinary journey. The format is unique compared to other turns around the world, as the sailors can participate with a wide range of boats that will be grouped according to their performance characteristics and set off in staggered exits.
