The bad weather has caused that this half day the ship City of Mahon, from Valencia with about 700 passengers on board, has suffered a small incident upon its arrival in the Port of Ibiza.
The damage, in particular, has been caused by the strong wind raches causing the boat to collide, in the docking maneuver, with the dock suffering, thus, a gap in the hull above the flotation line.
It should be noted that there has been no personal damage as the situation has been under control at all times. Neither the passengers nor the crew have been in any danger, and at no time has a waterway been opened.
However, immediately, the shipping company has decided to suspend the navigation of the City of Mahon in order to repair the damage. The ship is now in the port of Botafoc Ibiza Marina and is being repaired by the company's technicians.
Thus, the City of Mahon has not carried out the route of return to Valencia and instead the City of Palma will do so as the direction of the ship has diverted it from its usual route in order to be able to meet the needs of the passengers who were to have taken the trip at 1 p.m. Instead they will do it at 6.30 p.m. on this very Sunday.
